Pojo's Pokemon Card of the Day

Claydol - Team Magma vs Aqua

Date Reviewed: 6.10.04

Ratings & Reviews below

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Ausen  Claydol

Meh. More draft fodder. 80 HP won't help you anywhere else, and the attacks aren't spectacular. It's a solid draft card, with decent attacks for your fighting deck.

Unlimited 1/5

Modified 1.5/5

Draft 4/5

Jermy101 There are 2 Claydols so I will review the semi decent one.  The power lets you transfer energy between magma pokemon so this is good in a Team Magma deck with lots of Team  Magma pokemon.  His attack should do 60 damage most of the time, as long as you make sure your hand is big.

Unlimited - Psychic type!  Just like Base Gastly! 1/5

Modified - Ya there are team magma decks but they don't work.  Even Team Aqua decks are better. 2/5

Draft - Pretty good attack and power. 3/5

Card: Team Magma's Claydol(Holo)

HP: 5/5 Yes, this is all dandy and fine. 80 HP is good for a stage 1 Pokemon like this.

Type: 5/5 Yes, it is obviously a psychic type, and the Dark is on like all holos from that set...In fact I think it is on all holos from that set =/ . Anyways, fine.

Weakness/Resistance/Retreat Cost: 10/10 Uh-huh, yep, this works. Not that this matters, but I think they meant to put a third retreat cost. The 2 colorless energies are slightly orientated to the right...not that this matters for gameplay, just thought it was weird ^_^" .

Art: 9/10 Woo, 3-d-y....I might have made it lower because it is rather bland, but it is SHINY. Holos are shiny. Shiny is good!

Attacks/Power/Body: 35/50 Wow, it's a Team Magma's Manectric. Funny thing is, aqua decks run Manectric for this power, while I don't think many Magma decks do. Maybe just because there aren't many magma decks ;) . But it is a good power, if people would take advantage of it...Dark Hand is ok. 40-60 damage for [P] [C] [C]. Not too bad, but you don't see it in any archetypes, now do you?

Total Score: 64/80

See, I have a whole rating system for Pokemon cards ^_^ .
