Pojo's Pokemon Card of the Day

Makuhita -  Ruby Sapphire

Date Reviewed: 5.18.04

Ratings & Reviews below

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

Ausen  Makuhita

Pretty much a standard starter. 50 hp is fine for a basic that you're going to evolve, 1 retreat is pretty good, especially in the current modified format. Standard basic attacks, nothing special. I'd personally use the one with Fake Out, because I think Paralysis is the best Special Condition, the one with with Slap Punch and Lunge Out isn't bad. Don't use the fling version though.

Unlimited: Pure Crap
Modified: Useful if you're playing Hariyama 3.5/5
Limited: Decent HP, Low retreat, colorless or solid attacks 3.5/5

Thundachu Makuhita

Overview: Well, this should be a short review considering he doesn't do much lol. For 1 fighting energy, Fake Out does 10 damage plus a chance at paralyzing the defending pokemon. That's pretty good. 50HP for a basic is very nice as well, and 1 retreat is ok too. Weakness to psychic, should be ok. I would only use him for evolution though.

Unlimited: 2/5

Modified: Unless you're using him for evolution, I would use Dunsparce. 3/5

Draft: Pretty nice attack, and 50HP. I'd use him here. 4/5

Jermy101 You'll probably want to use the other Hariyama because of its higher HP and ex-killer attack.  This guy is average.  I wouldn't base a deck around it.  FCC for an average of 50 damage is nothing special.

Unlimited - Hariyama vs Base Gastly?  Well Gastly resists fighting so I'm giving the win to Gastly. 1/5

Modified - Hariyama's attacks are still too poor to be used in a tournament worthy deck.  If you really want to use a Hariyama, use the holo one so you can KO Ampharos ex in 1 hit.  The weakness to wobbuffet doesn't help either. 2/5

Limited - Pretty good here.  Decent attacks and good HP and uncommonness make this a good pick.  3/5
