HERACROSS D:

Modified:
Without Swoop Teleporter, your only chance of having a lone Heracross is simply opening with it. The fact that Luna/Sol will probably no longer be popular, and the fact that it has mediocre attacks, makes the card overall weak.
Modified: 2/5

Unlimited:
Shining Horn is useful in unlimited, but there are other basics that have the Poke-Body, (Skarmory) which are probably slightly better.
Unlimited: 3.5/5

Pretty mediocre basic from Dragon Frontiers. Shining Horn is always a useful Body. Opening with a lone Heracross against Castform decks can really slow them down. Dig Deep and Extra Claws aren’t very good, but they can get the job done I suppose.

Unlimted: 1/5
Stops Cleffa and Sneasel IF they don’t play Cessation Crystal, but since they probably do, Heracross isn’t going to be very useful.

Modified: 1/5
Same thing as Unlimited. Shining Horn is too easy to play around. Not very useful.

Limited: 3/5
Pretty good here. Sometimes your opponent wont be able to get any evolutions out in time, and will hang a lot of turns trying to deal with Heracross.

My reviews and ratings are for Modified only.

Heracross delta

Modified 1/5 - The metagame is simply dominated by Evolutions. Thus, this card is worthless. The attacks are really weak. Sorry.

Muk Man
Today’s Card Of The Day is…Heracross from Dragon Frontiers
Well as a starter he is not the best choice, but his power makes him limited gold!
30-50 damage for 2 energy is not bad, but in modified, there are better choices. Although Dig Deep can be useful to grab those discarded boosts, metal or darkness energies.

Combos: This guy flies solo; he does his best work when he is alone.

Modified: 1/5 Don’t see a use for him here, there are better options
Limited: 3/5 As a starter, great he will last a few rounds because this format is dominated by basics. But eventually you will have to play a bench.

Current ebay Value: $3.00 (Plus or minus $1 dollars)

Espeon Heracross d:

Unlimited: 2/5
It can stop Sneasel? Loses to everything else.

Modified: 1/5
The power is too dangerous and the attacks are worthless. Evolve and ohko it for the win.

Limited: 4/5
A nice body in limited, because most of the time you'll be dealing with basics and you can see an evo coming and being set up from a mile away.
Recycling energy is quite good and 2 for 30 is pretty basic for this format.
A nice bit of bonus damage against ex's and it's actually pretty good here.
