Roserade Lv.33 Diamond & Pearl

Hello, hope you had a good weekend and Mothers Day. O.K. now onto the COTD. Roserade is a new poke’ from D&P and has a few interesting features. First off it can be a stage 1 or stage 2 (If it was evolved from Budew,) the first attack is alright two (G) energy for 30 + auto poison, the second attack is also pretty good, the wording on the second attack is umm… different. If there was a Budew that could be energy the ruling on the card could get crazy (let’s hope that doesn’t happen.)

Pros –
Stage 1
90 HP

Cons –
It needs Budew to use all of its power.
No delta basics

Unlimited – 1/5 will never be good enough for Sneasle.

Modified – 2/5 it’s alright, could be better. (Nice HP tough.)

Limited – 4/5 it’s GOOD here. Stage 1 or 2, good HP, and nice attacks.

Today’s Card Of The Day is…Roserade from Diamond & Pearl

We’re off to a solid start with the new set. Roserade is the new evo of roselia.

The first attack poison sting is very good. For 2 grass you can do 30 with poison which can cause trouble since now the pokemon don’t have the high HP. The second attack, Spike Whip is a great combo with poison sting. They take 40 then retreat, then if you evolved from the baby form “budew” you hit the active for 50 and 30 to the bench, and since they retreated that damaged pokemon you might get an easy bench prize. But Fire weakness is a horrible weakness to have with this set.  And only 90 HP for a possible stage 2 isn’t good at all. That puts it in OHKO range from the fire monkey…before the weakness Plus there is no helpful poke-power or body for a possible stage 2 and that isn’t cool. But he can use Cessation Crystal

Combos: Skarmory EX. Poison sting to force the retreat then ko the bench. If they stay you ko the active and put damage on the pokemon who’ll come up next. Win/Win

Modified:  3/5 compared to other cards in the set, solid low cost attacks

Limited: 4/5 30 and poison for 2 grass energy. Yeah this is a no brainer plus low retreat

Current ebay Value: $???…but sell no cheaper than $10 (My Opinion)

P.S. Jeff Reynolds is the best T.O. EVER!

Apart from being OHKOed by Infernape even before he's levelled up, Roserade looks solid. Roselia is a great basic too! Budew features an energiless attack which is also amazing. You could tech an energy search to fix an energiless start or search for a candy, windstorm or transceiver! Roserade would work well as a rush attacker, as the candy obtained from Budew or the disruption from flick poison will likely allow you to develop your pokémon quicker. Only time will tell whether this card becomes playable or not but my first thoughts:

3/5
