Gyarados Lv.49 MT

Wow, I have been waiting for people to start using this card everywhere… I guess I will have to keep waiting. 120 HP is beautiful, especially on a stage 1. 3 retreat cost… Dang, that is quite a bit of retreat cost; let’s just hope you have a warp point or switch (Or Tuesday’s COTD.) -20 resistance is nice as Mario decks are lots of play. The weakness is ok, not the most used, not the least. The attack is great, 80 plus it discards a card for each heads (out of two coins) The confusion is a setback, but it can be played around. Now the poke-body, that is where this guy shines. Able to not only use attacks of the Magikarp below it, but it also does 30 more damage. There are only two useable Magikarp for this. The MT one and the HP one, DO NOT USE THE HP ONE… IT ONLY HAS SPLASH… ABUSE THE FLAIL. That is all.

Pros –
120 HP on a stage 1
80 damage for 2(w) and 2©
Dragon DNA rocks!!!

Cons-
3 retreat
4 energy needed for Enrage

Unlimited - Stage 1 is nice right? Not 1/5

Modified – someone will use this card, with good results 4.25/5

Limited – massive damage for only 1 energy? Count me in 4.75/5

I still like the whole 120 HP on a stage 1 thing,

Gyarados lv 49

This is all about the pokebody how good is it going to be ?

This question is answered by the magicarp. as the serie does not exist in Denmark yet  I haven’t seen the magikarp so ill let the others tell you about that 1.

Gyarados Lv. 49

This Gyarados has an amazing ability. Dragon DNA let's you take advantage of Magikarp's Flail ability. Being able to hit for X amount of damage counters +30 is ridiculous. However, The Magikarp is a very easy target for sniping Pokemon. 30HP is very low. Therefore, playing Gyarados is very dangerous. It has an awesome resistance, but a bad weakness. Both Lightning and Fighting are two top tiers right now with Electivire and Lucario...

Modified 3.5/5...Its only problem is Magikarp, but you've got to use the flailing one simply because the only other is from Holon Phantoms and has 30HP as well, with a bad attack. Otherwise, Gyarados could be a 4.5...

Limited 4.5/5...Totally a beast in limited. You get this, it usually means win.
Olly Gyrados

unlimited 4/5

a very good card because virtually every magicarp has the attack flail

modified 4/5

I don't see it becoming a deck to be feared with but it's still good. I remember people used to play gyrados with a magikarp with flail and adding memory berry so you can use flail for some massive damage but now you don't have to!

limited 4/5

don't see anything wrong with it so play it
Tiberius Gyarados, LV. 49

120 HP

* Poke-Body Dragon DNA: Gyarados can use any attack from its Basic Pokemon. (You still have to pay for that attack's Energy cost.) if Gyarados uses any attack from its Basic Pokemon, that attack does 30 more damage to the Active Pokemon (before applying Weakness and
Resistance) *

(WWCC) Enrage (80) Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, choose 1 card from your opponent's hand without looking and discard it.
If the first coin is tails, Gyarados is now Confused.

3 retreat

weakness to electric, +30
Resistance to fighting -20

to realize the worth of Dragon DNA, you have to see what magikarp's attacks are:
(C) Flail (10x) Does 10 damage times the number of damage counters on Magikarp.
(WW) Dragon Rage (60) Flip 2 coins. If either of them is tails, this attack does nothing.

well, with that said, take a look. even if you have a single energy, you can flail, and it will do at least 30. put some damage on him and it will be even stronger. now, to do dragon rage is just about a waste of a turn. you will have only a 25% chance of doing 10 more than Enrage (counting D. DNA). Flail is much the better move. so all in all, its a useful move, specially if you didn't have much energy on him before you had to send him out. great for limited.

that said, look at Enrage. you could end up discarding a lot, but you might confuse yourself. too bad. but still, even with the possible hand destruction, its too expensive, and a rather slow attack. if you consider yourself really lucky, you could play this, and totally trash their hand, but thats probably not going to happen.

all in all, this probably isn't the card you want to play. if you're doing hand trashing, use walrein instead, works much better, and if you want beating power, use something else. in limited, though, this card earns some redemption. hand discarding could kill their energies, and Dragon DNA allows for a power sweep even if you only have one.

Unlimited: 1/5 ouch...

Modified: 2/5 could be a helluva lot better

Limited: 4/5 it shines!
