Today's Pokémon Card of the Decade Is...!

G’day Pojo,

Unofficial Team Komala had to open seven boosters before finding this li’l guy—mind you I pulled not one but two rare Rayquazas during my quest. In my 17 years of TCG collecting, ranging from casual to moderate (can anyone be as hardcore as Omahanime though?!), I’ve often found that specific “uncommon” cards are harder to snare than “rare.” Maybe that’s because there are more of them per expansion-? Anyhow, I’m overjoyed, though a bit sleepy, about my find!

Therefore, Unofficial Team Komala presents today’s Pokémon card of the decade: Komala! Just like a real koala, its life centers on sleep—that’s because koalas have to rest a lot to be able to digest the toxic eucalyptus leaves that form the basis of their diet. And just like The Australian Koala Foundation says, “No Tree, No Me,” Komala and real koalas both depend on their logs/trees for survival—you can read all about real koalas at the AKF’s website www.savethekoala.com. Koalas are marsupials, so the little bean sized joeys do look “asleep” when they’re born because their eyes are not yet open as they make their way to mum’s pouch. Hopefully Pokémon will release the Japanese promo Komala card to the US soon, too! I’m also looking forward to the Tomy Komala figure set later this year. By the way, don’t forget Toys ‘R’ Us is holding a Pokémon Collect and Trade event this Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 1-3PM, where collectors can receive a free Alolan Vulpix and TCG collector’s album as per the e-mail I received from TRU last week (please check with your local TRU to ensure they are participating before driving out!).

Komala! zzzZZZ!
