Deck
Builder: Bailey1851@aol.com Deck Name: DragonGirl's Deck Strategy: Hello. I am 13, and it seems that not many other girls play! I want to get to the finals in a tournament on the 29th (of January) that's why I need your help. I thought that my Dragointe/Nidoking combo would do well, but it doesn't. I need to be able to combat Mr. Mimes, Scythers, Hitmonchan/Lee and Electabuzzes. Sorry about not getting back to you before the 29th! I hope I'm not too late though. It seems like you have the typical problem that most of us have, trying to figure out how to combat against those pesky Haymakers (fie on you, Brian Brocaw :] ) At first glance, your Pokemon looked fine... until I saw just how few trainer cards you had. DragonGirl, your trainers will make or break you in tournament level play. If you have the right trainers, you can overcome almost any deck, including Haymakers. If you don't have the right trainers, even if you have the best Pokemon, you are doomed. Now, on to the fix. |

You
have a very good start here! Unlike many decks I see, you have the right
ratios... except for Pinsir and Kangaskahn. I like Kangaskahn, but he
takes a while to power and as for your Pinsir, you only have one in your
deck... why is he even in there? Knock your Dragonite line down to 3-2-2
to make room for some much needed trainers. Nidoking will take care of
those pesky Mr. Mimes--20 damage, then 20 from the poison...
Here's my Pokemon advice to you. Remove Pinsir and Kangaskahn, and put in 2 Ditto. My pal, Chipmunk, pointed out that Ditto can add a whole lot of strategy to your deck. Try Ditto for a while and see if it helps.

Here
is where you need some major help. I always suggest that you have at least
2 Bill, 2 Oak, 2 Switch, and 2 Gust of Wind in your deck. Why? Because
Bill and Oak give you the drawing power you need to find the cards you
want. Switch allows you to pull energiless or status effected Pokèmon
from the active slot with no penalties. Gust of wind allows you to
bring up your opponent's weak or injured Pokèmon for quick kills. Quick
kills=easy prizes, and prizes=wins in this game.
Add 2 Professor Oaks, 2 Gust of Wind, and 2 Switches. Now, Pokeball
can serve as a CPU Search in a pinch, but you'd better be lucky with your
coin flips... I'll leave them in for now. |

Now,
we've given you some hope with your trainers, and given you some strategy
with your Pokemon. Remove 2 grass energy to bring your total cards down to
60.
Good luck, and
let me know how you do. |
