Hello Gymbo, My name's Darren (Ecko), i'm 14, and from Fremont, California.. I used to play the Pokemon Card Game all the time. Anyways I just started to pick up some memories, last week when I was organzing some junk in the garage. I picked out some of my old favorites when I had my "undefeatable "Haymaker Deck which I never lost with. Of course... i've lost a few of these cards over the 2 years they have been in the garage. I didn't replace them because they are so "old school" from the earlier sets. I need some advice to improve this deck of mine with some newer cards that you think will fill in some of the blank spots that I had to fill with the less useful(junk) cards. Pokemon 4x Electabuzz 4x Hitmonchan 4x Scyther Total: 12 Energy 4x Double Colorless Energy 8x Fighting Energy 4x Grass Energy 8x Lightning Energy Total: 24 Trainers 3x Computer Search 1x Item Finder 3x Energy Removal 2x Gust Of Wind 2x Lass 1x Nightly Garbage Run 2x Potion 4x Professor Oak 1x Scoop Up 4x Super Energy Removal 2x Switch Total: 24 Total Cards: 60 Thanks a million, yeah..I know I did alot of weird fill ins but thats because I don't have those nice "new" cards. If you can fix my deck and show me what cards I should actually be using instead, i'll be ever so thankful. -Darren Ecko ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey Darren, welcome to my Garage. Yes all of us must look back upon the good times of Pokemon, otherwise known as the Haymaker Age. Lots of people do not like Haymakers that much anymore, but I still believe that they are viable, and still can do very well in todays metagame. Lets get going... First we have the Pokemon: Drop the Hitmonchans, all of them. They just don't work anymore. Resistance Gym, Pluspowers, even prayer can't change that, so let him RIP. If you want a good fighting element in your deck try some Gligar. He retreats for free, has resistance, and can deal some quick damage. He's a nice cleaner, so we will add 2 =D. Drop 2 Scythers, sure he was cool, but there are better Pokemon out there. Drop 1 Buzz, using 4 is just overkill. Alright, lets get 3 of everyone's favorite rabid piece of fluff in here, yes I am talking about Cleffa. Lets add in two of that Transforming fool, yes I am talking about Ditto. Ditto is just so useful. He is anti-Sneasel, and just is a nice addition to any Haymaker deck. We also need to get some Igglybuff from Neo Discovery in here, 2 should be enough. Igglybuff should be in almost every deck. You don't want to have no way of protection against Slowking. Next we have the energy: Cut the Fighting, and Grass energy. Scyther just doesn't need it anymore. There are better energy choices out there. One of the newer types of energy is Recycle energy. This card is just sick with SER. Leave the Electric Energy count the same, and lets add in 4 Recycle energy. Finally, we have the Trainers: Add another Computer Search, and 2 more Item Finders. All Haymakers need to use 4 Computer Search, 3-4 Oak, and 3-4 Item Finders. I personally prefer 3 Oak, so we will drop one. Simple as that. Add another Lass, she is just too good with Cleffa. Drop the Potions, Scoop Up, and Switch. Drop 1 SER, 4 is just too much. Alright we will add in 3 Pluspowers to help aid in KOs, 3 Gold Berry for healing (another nice, new card), and 2 Sprout Tower. Sprout Tower protects you from scary Colorless Pokemon like Clefable, Wigglytuff, and Chansey. Sprout Tower is a Haymaker's friend. Alright, so without further ado, here is your deck: Old Sk00L, Gymbo Style: Pokemon: 14 3 Electabuzz 3 Cleffa 2 Scyther 2 Gligar 2 Ditto 2 Igglybuff Energy: 16 8 Electric 4 Double Colorless 4 Recycle Trainers: 30 4 Computer Search 3 Item Finder 3 Lass 3 Professor Oak 3 Super Energy Removal 3 Energy Removal 3 Gold Berry 3 Pluspower 2 Gust of Wind 2 Sprout Tower 1 Nightly Garbage Run Welcome back to the game, Darren! Have some fun! Thanks for stopping by, keep those decks coming! ~Gymbo~ XGymbo01X@cs.com
