The tournament was held at the local Community Center in Lovettsville, Virginia on Halloween.  I had never been to an actual tournament without any of my friends with me.  I was really nervous.  My deck has worked well in other small tournaments with only 4-8 people, but I was doubtful.  Well, here is my deck, the Jolly Green Giants.

Now for the tourney report.

There were 16 people there and we played best two out of three.

Round 1. vs. John with a water deck.
First game:    I opened up with a scyther and he opened up with poliwag.  I kept killing poliwags and magikarps the whole match.  He never had a chance.  The game took about five minutes.
Second game:    I only had a venonat and he slaughtered me.  This match lasted only 1 minute.
Third game:    This game took about 15 minutes.  I was able to build up both my venusaurs and I got plenty of energy.  My venomoths were wrecking havoc with Venom Powder until he put out a fully charged Blastoise with a plus power to kill Venomoth.  Near the end of the match, we were even with 2 prizes left each, and his Blastoise was still kicking arse.  He had another one on his bench.  Oh CRAP!  He was just about to kill my venusaur when he decked himself.  That was close!

Round 2. vs. Max with a fighting/water deck.
First game:    He had no chance, I started with a scyther, bulbasaur, and a venonat and he had only a hitmonchan and a machop.  He got nothing in his draws and I got everything I needed.  When He got any energy, I just e.r.ed it away.  Another 5 minute game.
Second game:    Same story, except all he had were poliwags and more poliwags.  It only lasted 3-4 minutes.

Semifinals. vs. Nathan with an electric deck.
First game:    He had an awesome deck and he was able to get out a raichu and zapdos and have them both fully charged by his tenth turn.  I was getting nothing!  My scythers and pinsers did nothing.  This was about a -3 minute match.
Second game:    This time, I was able to get out a venusaur by the fifth turn and had 2 venomoths by the sixth.  Venom Powder destroyed his pokemon.  This lasted about 5 min.
Third game:    This time, both our decks were working overtime and at their best.  My venusaurs were out and I had fully charged pinsers and scythers and venomoths.  He had raichus, magnatons, and zapdoses powered up.  about 14 minutes into the match, the judge caught him peeking at his prizes and I was awarded the match.

Finals. vs. NO ONE!!!
For some reason or another, my opponent had to leave.  I had heard he was unbeaten in the last 3 tournaments there.  I guess I got  lucky.  For winning, I got 5 fossil boosters in which I got holo Haunter, holo Gengar, holo Dragonite, and non hololapras.  Pretty good haul.

Props to the Community Center for having a great tournament
Props to Nathan for bieng so tough
Slops to my friends for chickening out
Slops to Nathan for cheating

That's it for now, I hope to add some fossil and make my deck even better.
