I participated in my first tourny at River Valley Library in Port Byron, IL
on oct 11.  It wasn't too large scale (I think 12 people participated) which
surprised me since there was an ad in the paper.  The tourny was double
elimination, lose twice and you're out.  Here's my deck, which I call
Scyshock:

12 grass energy
11 electric energy
4 double colorless

4 scyther
3 pinsir
4 electabuzz

4 bill
3 prof oak
2 com search
4 pluspower
3 gust of wind
4 energy removal
2 super energy removal

this deck had worked well against my friends and did great in the tourny. 
Here's what happened(of what I can remember)

Round 1 Vs. Brandon(I think)
i think he was playing a water deck(I might be wrong on the first 2 rounds,
all I know is i fought a mime deck and a sort of raindance)He got blastoise
out, but I was able to damage it with electabuzz and I think pinsir
Guillotined or scyther slashed for the finish.  after that it was smooth
sailing.  Blastoise probably could have given me more trouble, but i energy
removed and super energy removed it and he never got it back.

Round 2 Vs. ???
i think he was playing an psychic mime deck(I don't know if he had alakazam
or not in there, but if he did it never came out.)  His mimes came out in the
begining and gave me the most trouble, but pinsir took care of them.  It was
pretty easy after that.

Round 3 Vs. Mark (my neighbor)
he had a grass and fire, but I knew from experience I could beat him. I think
he got a rapidash out, but agility failed.  All in all, he was pretty simple.

Round 4 Vs. Collin
after going undefeated for the first 3 rounds, the lady in charge said she
would let everyone else play and I would play the winner of them.  That was
Collin, after he beat my friend Fletcher(who tried unsucessfully to copy my
previous haymaker with jynx and scyther).  He had a raindance deck and got
blastoise out pretty early and raindanced 4 energy, dealing 50 to my scyther.
 I slashed and used ER and SER, leaving him with 1 energy and 30 damage.  he
didn't get it back either.  next turn I think I guillotined and used 2
pluspower.  He didn't recover.

So I won and Got 10 bucks.  Hopefully I can participate in some more of these
and make some money$$$!
