Hello people, I'm here to talk to you about a
underrated pokemon called lapras. Most of you would
just take a look at it and either say: "Man he sucks!
0nly 10+ and 10 damage?" or "Mime killer!".
But you'll have to look deeper in a pokémon to truely
understand it...

1. Lapras is a Mime destroyer. As previously
mentioned, lapras is great a defeating mimes. Why?
One simple word, CONFUSION. Confusion is a really
deadly stats effect(and my personal fav). Its
one of the most effecient ways to stop Pokémon Powers.
First of all, lets look at the other 2
ways to stop Pokémon Powers. Theres Paralysis,
pratically usless in this situation(and others,
like aerodactyl and muk). Oh and who can forget the
unreliable "sleep", a flip of the coin and
Mr.Mime Invisible walls again. So there leaves
confusion. It can not be put out that easily. THe
basic only 2 ways is retreating, and using
trainers(switch, full heal, scoopup, etc). Retreating
is a risky way of doing things. You must pay the
retreat requirements, then flip to see if you
can retreat or not. If tails, you're attempt fails and
you may not try to retreat again. Then
theres trainers, but you can just try to confuse it
again... or if Mime is at the bench or hand,
then you're worrys are over since mime isn't bothering
you anymore. 2nd reason confusion is great
against Mime, it can deal damage. It can do about 40
damage to mime if mime trys to use meditate,
which destroys it. I would say more, but my time is
running short. Besides, I'm here to tell
you about lapras. Lapras may be a good Mime killer you
wonder, but there are others, like jigglypuff
and lickitung who are better at destroying mimes. Why
not put them in you're raindance or water
deck? BECAUSE LAPRAS IS MORE THAN JUST A MIME KILLER!
This brings me to my other part of my lapras
editorial.

2. Lapras is the best water starting pokemon to use
currently. It can dish out 60 damage in 3 tursn
if you choose not to try to confuse. That may not seem
alot compared to hitmonchan, electabuzz
and promo mewtwo(all can do about 80 damage in 3
turns). But thats the best a water pokémon can
currently get. I mean, look at the other water
BBP's.... Articuno. If you look at articuno's stats,
you'll see its not a great starter. It takes 3 WATERS
just to use its first attack. Now, don't get
me wrong. I think Articuno is, the best fossil water
pokemon (The best overall water pokémon is
dewgong and blastoise in my oppinion). But would you
actually put articuno as you're starting basic? It'll
probably get knocked out before you can even
activated. So that leaves lapras. Its important to
have a good BBP in you're deck (beginning of game,
aerodactyl, etc). Sure you can use Scythers
in you're water deck, that may not be a bad choice,
but theres always the ole dependable lapras.
I mean, lapras is a good pokemon to use. Once I
destroyed 2 scythers(in a roll) with one lapras and
another
time I knocked out 3 of my friends pokémon in a
roll(they were, krabby, onix and articuno). Why
because of confuse ray(look above). Does that mean
lapras is the best pokemon there is? No! But
it definately doesn't mean lapras suck.

3. Lapras is flexible. Hey, he can handle alot of
situations, face it. He's pratically energy
removal immune. He's also immune to Muk, aero,
mime(duh). Lapras is good to use in the beginning,
middle, and kinda in the end. Not much to comment
here...

4. Lapras is also a pokemon power destroyer. If you're
worried about a muk or a aerodactyl, then
take out lapras and confuse them buy gust of winding
them. Now they're powers are useless, as
previously mentioned, sleep and paralyzes are not good
ways of stopping powers. Now how many
water pokemon can confuse currently??? Lapras(of
course), tentacruel, and... shellder?!?!?!?!
Would you really put tentacruel in a raindance type
deck? Really think about it... I mean, I think
tentacruel is a good card, but not in a raindance! And
shellder... put him in, I <<snicker>>
bet you'll win so many battles<<snicker>>!

So bottom line, don't judge a card until you actually
used it... this goes for other cards too.
Now my long article has come to a end... until next
time.
