This is my top ten list. It is based entirely on my own opinion. These
are the cards that I think rank among the best. There are two parts, Pokemon
and Trainers. So, here they are.

Top Ten Pokémon
10. Kangeskhan-(excuse the spelling error) Comes in at ten. He has high HP,
and a potential 80 damage attack. His real strength is his Fetch attack. If
you are running low on cards, just have him Fetch until he is KO'ed.

9. Clefable- A poorly rated card, Clefable can be a very effective attacker.
For one energy you can use your opponents strongest attack. This can kill
many heavy hitters (Zapdos, for example) and is deadly to Psy types (most are
weak to Psy, plus Clefable is resitant). All of this combined with a
reasonable amount of HP and retreat get Clefable a top spot.

8. Ninetails- Before you even say anything like, "This guy is nuts! Fire
sucks!" let me explain why Ninetails is so great. He has exceptional HP for a
Stage 1 Evolution, and has a one retreat cost. Now his attacks. Lure may not
seem very useful, but to the smart player, it can be a life saver. Say your
opponent has a big beefy fighter with a large retreat cost. You need more
time, so you lure it out, and cause your opponent to waste energy to retreat
it. It's Fire Blast attack lets you do 80 damage every turn (without energy
removal).

7. Alakazam- I don't have to explain much about it this. Alakazam lets you
set off huge combos. Taking damage away, then scooping up that Pokemon with
Scoop Up.

6. Gengar- Gengar has an ability to control your opponents bench. They have a
weak Pokemon? Use Curse and and Night Shade to give the weak bench warmers
high damage tolls, then knock out one or two at once. Gotta love it!

5. Promo Pikachu (Movie Version)- Once again another second turn big
attacker. He isn't one of the best, because he must DISCARD the energy.
Otherwise, he would likely be at the top of the list :-)

4. Fossil Magmar- He scores a spot for being the Elecatabuzz of Fire. With a
lucky coin toss you can do 40 damage a turn with Smog (20 from the initial
attack, 10 at the end of your turn for poison, and another 10 at the end of
your opponents turn equals 40). With one less retreat and being only an
uncommon make almost better than Electabuzz :-)

3. Ditto- While he may not seem like much at first, but he may be your best
friend. His power, Transform, makes him as versatile as cards like Scyther.
He can use any energy, including DCE, towards his attack. He is the plague of
Psychic types (The nasty weakness they has to themselves) and can fight on
par with anything your opponent can toss at you. Put a few in your deck and
see if you like it.

2. Scyther- He is the ultimate combo set up man. Let him sit out and stall,
then retreat when you need to. Hopefully you will have a strong fighter on
your bench. His free retreat is a great asset. And his use of any energy
color allows you to put him in any deck.

1. A tie between Promo Mewtwo, Electabuzz, and Hitmonchan- I honestly
couldn't give any other the advantage over the other. They all have great
attacks, High HP, and are the best basics of their type. They are truly some
of the best cards in the game.

Yes, I know Blastoise isn't on the list. This is because He is a Second
Stage evolution, and he has a crappy basic form (I am sorry, but I had to
trash him because of squirtle). And now, the trainers.

Top 10 Trainers
10. Item Finder- Reuse that Super Removal? Sure! the reason it is so low is
because it takes that nasty discard.

9. Computer Search- Also a great card, but then the discard hits it too.

8. Scoop Up- The ultimate annoyance Just before your opponent takes their
prize, Take it away from them.

7. Mr. Fuji- The best weapon against stall decks. Take your big heavy with a
lot of energy and put them all into your deck. Then laugh at the funny look
on your opponents face :-)

6. Pokemon Center- Play a Psy stall with a bundle of these, and take all of
the damage away. You may loss all of your energy, but with a bunch full of
Snorlax, Chansey, Kangeskhan and Kazam with Mime active, you will be
unstoppable.

5. Gust of Wind- The ultimate game control card. In some cases it acts like a
huge energy removal. Gust out a heavy like Snorlax, and make your opponent
waste resources to retreat it. Also a useful KO card.

4. Plus Power- This will turn power houses into unbeatables. Not many
understand that 10 extra can make or break a game.

3. ER/SER- Keep your opponent in energy denial with these two powerful cards.
Enough said.

2. Professor Oak- Scrub a crappy hand for a possibly game altering new seven
card hand. Great!

1. Bill- He needs no explanation Use him as soon as you get him to turn your
one card draw into two! This will save your butt a lot of times.
