Re: Show Pokemon USA That We Care!
Rulemaster
March 14, 2003
Hi. I'm
Rulemaster from the boards. Truly a sad day....my favorite TCG of
all-time is dead. I really thought things would work out, but they
didn't. I'm kind of upset that Yoshi thinks that Pokemon is still "alive
as ever" when the inevitable is coming. I guess we all just need to face
the facts. Pokemon is a great game, but the Pokemon Company has lost
faith. They dump the TCG, and dump the millions of fans that have
supported it. I don't even know if I want Pokemon Ruby anymore. I
reserved it just so I could see the new Pokemon that would be coming out
in future TCG sets. O well. I have been playing Yu-Gi-Oh, but I KNOW
that Yu-Gi-Oh is going to die within a year, and Pokemon was not really
affected by the new fad. I'm really depressed about this whole
thing...all of the great people I met at GenCon, Super BZ, ect. will all
be gone. I even thought the delegate program was working out great, at
least around here. I was going to start my own BZ once I was done with
school. O well. Our BZ TO has about $1000 in product that was to be used
in future events; he probably won't be able to use it all now or even
sell it. This REALLY SUCKS!
GymLeaderPhil: Perhaps I'm a bit to optimistic about
this whole situation. But, I think that the game is not dead yet.
The Pokemon Company does have a company that will produce the cards,
that isn't a issue. So you will be able to see all those Ruby and
Sapphire Pokemon in ADV sometime after August from the new company.
The thing is, everyone who plays the game
will only stick around if there is organized play. We really want the
new company to support organized play, we do not want this to become a
casual game for collectors. Please, share this with your friends and
enemies you have with the game... If organized play is gone, so is
Pokemon.
