Rainbow Energy
and Energy Search (or Energy Ark) has its uses
Rainbow Energy
Pros:
- If you are using decks that have 3 or more types
- If your deck contains Darkness and Metal Pokémon (remember, you can
only have 4 of each in a deck)
- If you are using a Southern Islands Mew deck
- Available in MMF (it is released as a Promo card, so you can use
Rainbow Energy in a MMF deck)
Cons:
- Does 10 damage to the Pokémon you attach Rainbow Energy to
- Can't retreive it with normal cards such as Nightly Garbage Run and
Energy Stadium; you have to depend on Energy Charge (all formats) and
Recycle (Standard only), which needs a flip...
Energy Search
Pros:
- Helps you search your deck for Energy, making it pretty useful in
decks that have 3 or more types
- Useful in some situations when card drawing is low and you have no
Energy
- No coin flips, no self damage, etc.
Cons:
- Can only search for Basic Energy cards, meaning that you cannot get
Darkness and Metal energy cards from your deck.
- Can be stopped by trainer and hand disruption cards
- Since it is in Fossil, and it hasn't been re-released in Legendary
Collection, it isn't allowed in Modified or the Neo-On Modified.
If you weigh out the pros and cons, I would rather use Rainbow Energy.
Rainbow Energy is a better card. It is much move versatile, can't be
easily prevented, and helps you out more.
