You guys know how to confuse a Pokemon, but do you
know how to confuse your opponent? After being in many
school tourneys, I have found what seems to be a key
to winning and having fun as well. >:) The key is to
confuse your opponent as well as their Pokemon. I
mean, how many of you have fallen on your face in a
match because they had a plan in mind. But, when you
are able to throw more wrenches at them than they
could handle, you have the game in your hands. An old
deck I've played in a local school tourney called
'Confusion' is a perfect example of this stratagy.
Here's the deck.
~Confusion~~
Pokemon ( 18 ):
3 TR Porygon
3 Venonat
3 Venomoth
3 Ditto
3 Clefairy
3 Clefable
Trainers ( 22 ):
3 Gust of Wind
3 Imposter Oak
3 Lass
3 Pokeflute
3 Revive
3 Pokemon Center
2 Ecogym
2 Chaos Gym
Energy ( 20 ):
16 Grass
4 DCE
This deck works well when played right. One time, I
had confused my opponent so badly, she stood up,
resigned and left. If you don't believe me, ask
Tesability Black, my sister, from the Pojoboards.
Here's the 'why' for the cards placed in this deck.
TR Porygon: Confuse your opponent by changing around
the active's weakness, then confuse the active itself
with Psyshock.
Venomoth: Shift into your opponent's weakness, if any,
and attack without mercy.
Ditto: Change into power! Transform Ditto into your
opponent's active and 'Mirror Move' them.
Clefairy-Clefable: Steal their active's skills, as I
call them, and use them yourself.
Gust of Wind: Control who the active will be.
Imposter Oak: A new hand means the need for the
opponent to change their plans. Watch out if they get
a good hand, though.
Lass: Take trainers out of the opponent's hand. Make
sure you are used to not needing trainers to win
matches. If not, replace Lass with something else.
Pokeflute: Fill your opponent's bench with Pokemon
they don't need. But return a Pokemon they need, and
you may be treated with respect for your kindness.
Revive: Get back the basic Pokes you need.
Pokemon Center: Heal Revived Pokemon and Pokes that
have taken a major beating.
Ecogym: Get back energy, except DCE, that was lost by
Pokemon Center.
Chaos Gym: I don't mean to sound rude, but do I REALLY
need to EXPLAIN this card?!
Ladies and gentlemen, we officially have the last
word on confusion of this sort. As you realize, this
is NOT a Modified deck. If you can create a Modified
Confusion deck, PLEASE reply!
