I know you are busy, and this isn't the right place to do this, but I
wondering if you could give me some feedback on this other deck. Actually, I
play with this one more often. I don't really like archetypes either. This deck
is kinda strange, but it seems to work. I hope you can take a look at it:
Ok, strange but I have just put together a green haymaker. Actually, it's a
lot more powerful then I thought it would be. I kill a lot of people on the 2nd
or third turn. My favorite thing to do is start the battle with one scyther.
Then, during my turn, I drop a pineco with 1 grass energy + defender. Retreat
scyther, and blow them up. This works pretty well since most basic pokemon have
only 40-50hp only anyway. If they retreat a 50hp pokemon, it dies on their
bench. Plus, this strategy gives me a nice cheesy way to dispatch annoying
little baby pokemon. With enough free retreaters, the pineco come out as a
complete surprise, and the enemy is QUITE shocked when their electabuzz hits
the discard pile when it had only a handful of damage on it. Here's the deck:
Ka-BOOM
Pokemon (21):
4 Pinco
4 Scyther
2 Scizzor
3 Cleffa
2 Magbe
2 Magmar (neo)
2 Erika’s Jigglypuff
2 Tyrogue
Energy (19):
2 Double colorless
7 Grass
4 Steal
6 Fire
Trainers (20):
2 Team Rocket’s Sneak Attack
4 Defender
3 Double Gust
3 Plus Power
2 Misty's Wrath
2 Elm
2 Focus Band
2 Nightly Garbage Run
Grass Haymaker, kinda unusual.
The Pokemon:
Pineco, obviously is important. Scyther, I consider a must for any grass
deck. Scizzor I threw in because it is NICE. Plus, steal energy is just one
more way to keep a pineco alive. Cleffa . . . need I say more? Magbi, I don’t
like pokemon powers. Choosing from igglybuff, pichu and magbe, chose magbe
mostly just because I have magmar (not that evolution is that great a strategy
for them) and I don’t like steel either. I chose magmar over water types cause
I thought steel was a greater threat then fire (fire normally has an evolution
strategy and I can handle a charmander or cyndaquil with no problems), plus
it’s a strong attacker with plenty of HP (notice that it’s almost the same card
as chan). As for jiggly, it’s REALLY fast, and this is a fast deck. I have
enough pokemon who can use double C anyway. Tyrogue also works well instead if
jiggly.
Trainers:
Sneak Attack: Nice back up to slow them down.
Defender: Can you hear the pineco? Help me! Help me!
Gust/plus Power: All depends on the enemy. Another haymaker deck, use more
plus power. Gust is better against decks with a lot of 40/50 HP pokemon.
Wrath: When you could win the game with two cards, this thing is great.
Elm: A great drawing card.
Focus band: Helps Babies and pineco!
Garbage Run: Get my pineco back . . . heh heh heh . . . also against those
d@mn mewtwo stall decks! Actually, cleffa kicks their butts so I guess that’s
ok . . .
Energy: Really don’t need grasss much, save for the pineco, but NEED pineco
so . . . Double C for scy/jiggly/magmar though not as good for magmar. Steal is
good for baby/sciz/pineco. I especially like steal on cleffa, particularly to
protect the little guy from pineco’s explosive temper. Fire for Magmar, he
kinda needs it.
The key to this deck is just to keep pineco in your hand if you can until he
is needed, waiting for the right opportunity. Dropping pineco in a sneak attack
is really valuable. Also, I was thinking of adding a neo 4 forretress, but what
do you think?
Thanks .
This is a well thought out deck. Here are some reccomendations.
Swap the Scythers for the new Promo kind. They have retreat, but deal 40 for
GG. Drop the Scizor for some Dark Scizor. Drop a Pineco and a Scyther
for some Dark Foretress. Swap Magby for more Tyrouge and some more trainers.
Drop Magmar and Jiggly for Murkow and another trainer. This is for
Modified, so use Elm, Wrath, Focus Band, Double Gust, Hideout, and Gold
Berry. Make the energy include 4 each of Metal and Dark, plus about 8 Grass.
Cleffa is good, but drop 1 of him for more trainers.
