Cowboy Bebop: When i first saw Cowboy Bebop back in 2000 i didn't really like it to much, but as these shows do, it grew on me. I mean thinking about it now there's really not much to not like about it: Bounty hunters in space = good, hot chicks in space = good, comedy in space = gooood. The only part i didn't really like was the fact that the best character (spike) kicks the bucket at the end of the series. Favorite Character: Spike High Point: The episode where everyone gets hopped up on shrooms- hilarious Low Point: When Spike dies... 9. Gundam Wing: Big mechs fighting in space... doesn't get much better than that. You could have probably insert any of the gundam series in here (Gundam 8th MS Team springs to mind) but i picked GW because it was the first of the gundams i saw, and i'm a sucker for nostalgia. The only thing i would have thought to add to the show, would be some sort of sense of humor... its just a bit too dry. Favorite Character: Quatre High Point: Any of the fight scenes... seriously... any of them Low Point: When Quatre goes bezerk while piloting the Wing Zero 8. Ronin Warriors: As the first anime series i ever saw this just had to be on my list. And even though i haven't watched it in about 5 years the story of Ryo, Kento, Cye, Sage, and Rowan is still one of my favorites. Favorite Character: Cye High Point: When Anubis appears in the Ancient One's clothing Low Point: When Harriel turns out to be Ryo in white armor... how lame 7. Case Closed: After sitting there and sweating your pants off watching Law and Order: SVU, or being bombarded with scientific mumbo jumbo in CSI its nice to be able to watch an old fashioned detective story... even if its a cartoon. Being a big fan of murder mysterious i imediately took a liking to Case Closed and its combination of suspense and sillyness, and the fact that the main character is a "kid" puts a great spin on things. Favorite Character: Detective Moore High Point: Whenever Conan does his spiel about how he knows who the murderer is and how they did it, etc. Low Point: ... None ... really 6. Dragon Ball Z: The mega hit anime series, which i am proud to say i was a fan of before it became huge (here in america that is). I was practically obsessed with this show back in the nineties, and its a shame that it has somehow been relegated to a position where a lot of true anime fans look apon it with scorn. Favorite Character: Mirai Trunks High Point: When Mirai Trunks goes back to his time and whoops the androids Low Point: Anytime Goku starts on one of his stupid "holier than thou" speeches 5. Inuyasha: Oooooh yeesss, nothing like a good Rumiko Takahashi love triangle. You gotta love Inuyasha and its combination of demon slaying, awkward romance, and longevity. You just know you got a great show when the main character can slay a 300 foot dragon demon but can be humbley flattend by the simple words "sit boy". Favorite Character: Miroku High Point: Anytime Miroku feels up Songou's butt and gets slapped for it (you know she secretly likes it) Low Point: Anytime Inuyasha so much as thinks about Kikiyo 4. Rurouni Kenshin: Rurouni Kenshin could have easily been number one on my list had the anime series been just a little more like the brilliant OAV series. However, even still it ranks way up there with its awesome combination of humor, fun, and SAMURAIs. Favorite Character: Kenshin High Point: Anytime Kenshin is about to fight someone... you just know they're about to be tooled Low Point: Anytime Kenshin makes that ridiculous beaked face.. you know the one i'm talking about 3. Lupin 3rd: In my opinion Lupin the Third has the best theme song (japanese one mind you) in all of anime. As for the cartoon itself.. well it just plain rocks: grand larceny, hilarity, and hot chicks... whats not to love? Favorite Character: Inspector Zenigata High Point: Everything! Low Point: Nothing! 2. Ranma 1/2: Ahhhh, yet another beautiful love triangle... except in Ranma its more like a love dodecagon. The one show where all hell breaks loose, and insanity prevails and you LOVE it. At any one time it seems that either everyone and their mother is out to either kill ranma or marry him, and to top it all off there is random nudity, martial arts, and polymorphing... ::drool:: Favorite Character: Tatewake Kuno High Point: Pretty much everything, but if i must be specific then it'd have to be the first episode when they find out about ranma's ... secret Low Point: The end credits 1. Trigun: Brilliant plot, intresting characters, cool fight scenes, tasteful humor, a kick ass theme song, yep Trigun is def. number one. I only wished they had made more than 26 episodes.... :( Favorite Character: Vash High Point: In the.. second (i think) episode near the end. When Vash is "dodging" the bad guy's bullets and the bad guy asks him if hes anticipating his shots, and Vash replies that the bad guy is just a lousy shot. Low Point: Wolfwood dies... boooo
