Got three updates today!
Our resident manga review guru, Shiro the Commander, sent in a review of Hellsing Volume 3. DemandRed5151 sent in a DVD Review of Kino's Journey Volume 1. Finally, sairasu89 sent in a Top Ten Anime list. 01.23.05 Bad News for Case Closed fans: "The decision not to pick up more Case Closed episodes was based on ratings - but we have 50 episodes, and we'll continue to air them from time to time." 01.21.05 Well, the one day I decide not to check the AS message boards, THEY POST SOMETHING! >_> (I was doing a huuuge history project.) So while this is slightly old news, I have compiled a list of the important stuff. Read about it here if you haven't already. 01.17.05 Hikaru no Michiru send in a summary of the next Bleach Episode: Heroes Can Save You. 01.16.05 Quick news update from Jmanunknown, G4 has recently acquired Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi from ADV and will start airing the series February 7th on their Anime Unleashed block. Thanks for the info! 01.14.05 You can watch an episode of D.I.C.E., a new series premiering on Toonami a week from Saturday. Thanks to ANN for the link! Shiro the Commander sent in his Top Ten List and a Manga Review of Great Teacher Onizuka. 01.13.05 Hikaru no Michiru sent in an episode summary of the ongoing saga in Bleach: A Fighting Boy. 12.29.04 Ace of Spades sent in two more DVD Reviews. This time, Ace watches and writes about Final Fantasy Unlimited Vol. 1 and Last Exile Vol. 1. 12.28.04 Ok, well we were finally able to finish up the screen shots for the Bleach episode, so here they are: Bad Standard and Wasted but Wanted. Hope you enjoy them! The second Inuyasha Movie, The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass, goes on sale today as well. They're available at Amazon.com for $18.74. 12.27.04 Shiro the Commander sent in a review of Initial D Manga, volumes one through 14. To include it, I started a manga review folder, so if there's any manga you want to tell us about send it in! 12.25.04 Ace of Spades sent us a huge .hack// info document to get you into the series. It can be found here. Hikaru no Michiru also sent in summaries of episodes 6 and 7 of Bleach. I'll link them when I fix up the pics. Just found out that some of you folks in dial up land were having to wait a really long time for those summaries to load because I didn't resize the pics enough. They will be up as soon as I can get them resized! 12.23.04 Ace of Spades sent us FOUR DVD reviews: Season 1 of Big O, Volume 1 of Big O II, Volume 1 of Which Hunter Robin, and Volume 1 of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Great work Ace! (He also sent me pics which I'll put up ASAP.) 12.21.04 I wrote a summary/review of Episode 56 of Detective Conan. I will warn you, it does contain spoilers! I also added season 4's opening and ending theme lyrics. 12.10.04 OMG look! The sexay Secret Squirrel is updating this anime site! And it's actually something people will want! Jmanunknown sent us all the DVD Release dates he could find for December and January! The DVD Release Date page has been updated with all his information. 12.07.04 No real updates today, mainly due to school for me, and lack of submissions (thanks guys >.<.) I bought a sealed season 1 box set of Inuyasha, but the first DVD had like 3 scratches on it, so I have find time to return it and hope I can exchange it. Damn Best Buy. o_O I'll try to get a summary of Case Closed Movie 1 up later this week. Inuyasha Volume 24 Severed Identities goes on sale today. It contains the following episodes:
12.05.04 We've got a summary of episode 5 of Bleach coming your way: The Gate of the End, written by the talented Hikaru no Michiru. He also send us some terms that are frequently used. In other relatively older news, Case Closed Vol. 4 of Season 4, Broken Dreams, will be released on 1.11.05. Volume 3 was released recently as well. You can pick up a copy at Amazon. (All the Case Closed DVDs are uncut and have the original Japanese audio in addition to the English dub.) 12.03.04 Lord Tranorix sent us a summary of the first episode of Hellsing: The Undead which you can find here. 12.02.04 Hikaru no Michiru is back again with another Bleach episode summary. This one is of Episode 4: Ichigo and the Soul Reapers. It has screen shots as well so check it out! 12.01.04 The witty (and slightly perverted) Charninja sent us an article talking about the cool mangas and anime (that are being released now) which you should be watching. Charn discusses Naruto, Ghost in the Shell, Read or Die and much more here. 11.30.04 Illness and school prevented me from posting an update last night, but I was able to get a little info up. I posted some Big O stuff; character bios and an introduction. I also fixed the images in the Bleach episode summaries. 11.26.04 The response I got on the boards was enormous. Lots of people want to contribute to the site. The first submission was from Hikaru no Michiru, who sent us summaries of the first three Bleach episodes. You can find them here. two newest property acquisitions during the FUNimation
industry panel at Anime Expo in Anaheim, CA: Burst Angel and
the third OVA in the Tenchi Muyo! series. Burst Angel is a
hot action series from Gonzo that took Japan by storm. Here
is a brief summary and an image. Here is what happens: A few weeks ago I was sitting at home waiting for the swelling to go down on my most recent accident. Now I’m soaring through the cosmos as Captain of the Pirate Decoy Squad! My job: to track down pirates. But they always seem to find me first, especially when my crew is in no position to fend them off. As I write this dozens of pirate ships are on our tail. It looks like my Galaxy Police career is going to be a short one. Even NB has defected! Now I can see Ryoko Balta’s ship heading my direction. But something’s wrong! Ryoko’s charging in with guns blazing, but what is her target?

– Academy Life is available tomorrow (Tuesday 4/20/04).
04.13.04 FUNimation announced the
acquisition of Kodomo no Omocha (a.k.a. Kodocha) on
Saturday, April 10 at Anime Boston. The announcement was
made during our industry panel at 3:00 p.m. ET. We expect
the title to release around Spring or Summer 2005. Here is
some background information on the property: 04.08.04 Cartoon Network is planning to debut Case Closed (the popular series known as Detective Conan in Japan) on Monday, May 24. The series will run Monday through Thursday at 12 midnight E/P during the Adult Swim Block.
Funimation will be
at Anime Boston this weekend. "Come by our booth were
you can enter to have a chance to win a free DVD (5 winners
every hour!) and don’t forget to pick up a Kiddy Grade

08.07.03 Funimation Acquires
Detective Conan Funimation Productions, the company that brought the various Dragon Ball series, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Blue Gender, and Kitty Grade to the US market, has acquired the rights to Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan), the highest rated anime series in Japan. Although the long-running Detective Conan series has well over 300 episodes, it still regularly beats other popular series such as Inu-Yasha and One Piece in the ratings race on Japanese television.
