Stealth Fiend, Oboro Cart

Power: 6000

Grade 1

Clan: Murakumo

Race: Demon

[AUTO]:[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (VC) or (RC), if you have a «Murakumo» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of you «Murakumo» rear-guards not named "Stealth Fiend, Oboro Cart", search your deck for up to one card with the same card name as that unit, call it to (RC), shuffle your deck, and at the end of that turn, put the unit called with this effect on the bottom of your deck.

This one is rather interesting in my opinion.  When it hits the field, you can Counterblast 1 to basically get a free clone-no-jutsu ability which is one of the main things that Murakumo specify in (the other is ways of discarding, but that's another COTD for another day.  xP).  In short, this can allow you to clone something that you may be shy of needing like an extra booster, so you can clone a Shijimamaru or an extra attacker, so you can clone a Bloody Mist.  With them being searched out, it lessens the probability of hitting it during a Drive Check, and in turn, it makes it easier for you to Drive Check Triggers during this time as it's one less deadweight card for you to Drive Check.  However, there are two major flaws with this card, and that's 1.)  The unit has to go back to the bottom of the deck by the End Phase, which isn't really bad seeing how it'll still be out of the way by being at the bottom and not shuffled for it to be Checked later on.  The other main feux pa is that it's only 6,000 power.  6,000 is okay, but that extra 1,000 power can really matter in dire moments, so I really can't give it THAT much praise.

With that said, Oboro Cart is still a pretty nice card regardless of the Murakumo build.  While not exactly a staple, it'll have room in a nice majority of Murakumo player's decks.

Rating: 4/5

Art: 3/5 (For some reason, the face on the cart really reminds me of Vincent from that weird game, Catherine...I love it.  xD)

Next Time: It's blue da ba dee da ba die.  xP

Stealth Fiend, Oboro Cart

Oboro is the latest in “cloning jutsu” units for the Murakumo clan. When it hits the board, counterblast one, and call out a copy of a rear guard, placing the copy on the bottom of the deck at the end of the turn. At 6k, it rests on the low end of acceptable stats for a grade one.

Why do we care about this thing? First of all, its copying skill is not limited to any grade or card name (with the exception of itself); all you need is another rear guard. Cards like Tamamo can only copy grade two or higher, while the Magatsus and Midnight Crow can only bring out copies of themselves, so having that increased flexibility is a real plus. You are able to bring out a copy of whatever back row unit you already have, and then Tamamo can bring out something for the front row. The only card you play from your hand in that situation is the Oboro Cart, and now you’ve got a full field.

If you aren’t playing Tamamo, then Oboro is the card for you. Whether you need a booster, or another 11k frog in your front row, Oboro Cart gets the job done at a minimum cost to you.

Rating: 4/5 – He’d be better as a 7k.
