THE card everyone cracked open the packs for, I believe. Once per turn in Late Game when she attacks a Vanguard, you Soulblast 3, pitch 3 from the hand and Counterblast 1 to re-stand her, and give her 5k until the end of the turn.

Ouch, that is quite the ability. The ability to gain more power on top of her re-stand is quite the point in her favour since it means she doesn't need a booster to swing for the same numbers again. Of course, pitching 3 for a re-stand means that Minerva would have to be directly compared to Dragonic Descendant. So how do they compare?

Descendant:

Pros: Forces bad decision-making, better reliability getting it because Strike Dagger's a thing.

Cons: Has to use CB to power up for the same columns as Minerva, so it's only really good once

Minerva:

Pros: Absolutely guaranteed re-stand regardless of what happens. Repeatable results if need be

Cons: No penalty for blocking the first one, so not as effective a revenge-killer

So out of the two? Descendant, if only just. Largely since not having one or the other on 4 damage dooms both, but at least Descendant has a better chance of it happening. That's not to say Minerva's bad. She's good, even if her support pretty much has to directly feed her for when Late Game happens, but that's Genesis's weakness as a whole anyway.

Minerva's not bad. Hope you didn't toss out those Genesis cards long ago.

...honestly, as much as I want to write about this card, a lot of what I would say about her I already said on my YouTube page, so here's a link to the video:

Best card in the set, period. This card gives Genesis a major, major boost that they were lacking before. It's also one of the better restanders in the game.

I'll be frank, when this card came out in Japan, it allowed Genesis decks to tear the meta apart over there.

It's also a cross ride of Angelica, the break ride from the Genesis Trial deck.

That being said, if you did crossbreak ride this gal on top of Angelica, it will give her the hand needed to fuel Minerva's Limit Break, at least the first time. Even if the attack doesn't hit the Vanguard, you can just discard 3, Soul Blast 3 and Counter Blast 1 to restand.

Normally, such a cost would make this card balanced, however, considering that Genesis can build up a soul like Dark Irregulars or Pale Moon, this cost is minimal. The only thing that might be a factor is being able to discard 3 cards from your hand.

That being said, she's not the best restander in the game, though she's very close. What's holding her back from being the best restanding Vanguard is the fact that Genesis, as a deck is pretty underwhelming over-all and the fact that she only works at four damage.

That being said, she's a very strong card for the deck and, if you play Genesis and can get her, run her, simple as that.
