What's up, Rogue Squad?! So for today's Card of the
Day, we're dealing with something of an oxymoron by
name, but the question is is it essential in it's deck?
Let's find out:
Clan: Nova Grappler
[AUTO](RC):[Counter Blast(1)] When an attack by your
vanguard with "Blau"
in its card name hits a vanguard, you may pay the cost.
If you do, [Stand] this unit, and this unit gets
[Power]+5000 until the end of turn.
...Mars is definitely a unique unit in it's own way
though I personally see a bit of a situational problem
with this card along with another card we're going to be
taking a look at later in the week, but let's take a
look at today's card. A Grade 2 with 9,000 Power, aside
from the 10,000 vanillas like Damned Leo, King of Sword
and others, it's still one of the better stats in the
game, and this card can actually become stronger should
this situational effect go off. Whenever a Blau
Vanguard hits the opponent's Vanguard, you can
Counterblast 1 to restand Mars with an extra 5,000
Power. Personally, this card is really good in an early
game state, where the damage is still before the Break
Ride/Limit Break state, and cards like this have an
opportunity to help out in an early game swarm.
However, I only recommend using this effect if the
opponent isn't getting any extra Power boost like
Striken or a regular Damage Check.
Aside from that, Mars is at least a decent card in its
deck, but I'd rather retain my Counterblasting for Mond,
Galaxy or even Stern Blaukleuger, so I say to just stick
with Grosse Baer.
Art: 2/5 (Probably one of the least action packed Gundam
arts of the subclan...disappointing.)
Next Time: If I'm rating and critiquing cards, does that
make me a Critic?
Go Rogue...Go Pro!
...and DON'T be a Sackboy!!!
Okay, this is a little better. Mars Blaukluger. When
your Blau Vanguard attack hits, you can Counterblast 1
and re-stand him, and give him 5k power to boot.
Neat little combo you can do with him is to ride
Blaukluger, hit with him, pay the cost for Mars, then
use Blaukluger to flip the damage back face-up. That’s a
free damage or another card knocked out of the opponent
for cheap (not even getting started on Morgenrot), which
is just dandy.
However, you do need to watch what you do. Keep in mind
you need 2 open damage for your Grade 3 Stern Blaukluger
ride, although if that’s not possible, spend away! Just
make sure there’s enough damage for Galaxy Blaukluger.
This card’s got synergy, and synergy’s good. Revengers
kick ass because of synergy.
