What's up, you guys?! So for today's review, we're going to be looking at a card that's from a clan which is near and dear to my rogue heart: Granblue! I can't wait, so let's do this!

Hades Steersman
Power: 3000
Grade 0
Trigger: Stand
Clan: Granblue
Race: Ghost
[AUTO](Drop Zone): When your grade 3 «Granblue» is placed on (VC), you may call this card to (RC) of the same column as that unit.

...I really have mixed feelings about this one for a number of reasons. While it's nice to revive a unit for free, the fact that it an only be resurrected directly behind your vanguard kind of defeats the purpose unless you're going for revival techniques like Samurai Spirit or Deadly Nightmare. It also wouldn't bug me if it actually was a decent booster, but a subpar 3,000, which is the lowest power on a trigger and tied for lowest power in the game with Skull Witch, Nemain; means that it really wouldn't make much of a numbers difference unless it just barely hits the mark, so that basically means that it's main purpose is to sacrifice it to the aforementioned revival techniques, which is okay to an extent. The other thing that really bugs me is the fact that it's a Stand Trigger. If this was anything else, especially a Draw Trigger, then I can definitely see this used as a tech to get a nice head start on the revival tricks, but seeing how most Granblue decks that don't use Thanatos use mainly Critical Triggers or Draw Triggers, that leaves minimal room at best if any room at all.

My opinion, wait for Set 13 to be released, and you can play a pretty fun Barbaros/Thanatos build, but in a competitive Granblue deck (which is an oxymoron until said set releases), just stuck with Criticals and Draws.

Rating: 2/5
Art: 4/5 (The artwork on this is actually pretty lively, which is rare to find on most triggers)
Next Time: Linchu's alternate? ...what am I thinking???

Hades Steerman

Next up, we have a highly interesting little number, Hades Steerman. Whenever you ride a Grade 3, he comes back from the Drop Zone to a RG circle. Now you might think, "Oh my god that is the worst +1 ever, why would you even use that?"

Because it's Granblue. Their gimmick is to revive things for consistent columns. All you have to do is sacrifice it for a better booster like Samurai Spirit or Deadly Nightmare, and immediately you have a pretty efficient +1 (a good deal for Counterblast 1 or Soulblast 2). He's a good Chappie the Ghostie target if you need some fodder for a Mid-Game field swarm too.

Now of course, this all assumes you HAVE a not-terrible booster to swap him with, AND Hades Steerman is also dead, AND you have a Grade 3 to ride. A tall order, so outside of a Stand-based Granblue deck I would probably tech him at no more than 2. But still, getting him free to fetch something, maybe even dropping a late Cocytus for more field presence, is fairly nice to have.

He's better than he looks. I just wish May would be kinder to Granblue as a whole...

2.5/5
