1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.
I have no idea why we didn't cover promos leading up to
BT15, but here we are. Filling space until the card dump
this November. (Oh the horror). Starting our week off is
Gust Blaster Dragon. He's basically Phantom Blaster
Dragon except for a slight difference in skill; he has
to sacrifice three rear-guards and Counterblast 1 ON
ATTACK, and then he gains 5k and 1 Critical for every
unit in your soul that's a Blaster. Oh, and he gains 2k
on attack if you've got at least one Blaster in the
Late Game Critical still sucks, but don't worry, I won't
leave it at that. In fact, it's only Critical +1 in Late
Game that's largely un-salvageable without some other
skill because you'd have to be losing by a certain
amount for it to work. Since this can gain more than
that, that's maybe sorta okay because it at least forces
guard early, or catches up failing that.
Pfffft I wish. What ruins this potential LB sealer is
his frankly ludicrous activation requirements. Since it
has to be done in the Battle Phase, you can't pull a PBD
and clean your bad field before attack. So your most
optimal move would be to sack away his own booster AND
one of your normal columns before you can get anything
out of it. Going -3 every turn to accomplish a LB seal
when Blade Wing Reijy can do virtually the same job just
isn't justifiable to me. Especially since you only get 3
new cards every turn once Grade 3 is hit. And you NEED
the guard come Late Game.
Gust Blaster carries on the Phantom Blaster tradition of
sucking. Collect him for the promo value and just don't
Gust Blaster Dragon
Looks like it's promo week here on Pojo.
Considering that there's a rather... Substantial
gap between now and November, we do need stuff to fill
the time up.
Oh look, the promo that you got if you went to the sneak
peek for Infinite Rebirth. I will say, I do agree
with Saikyo's "Vanguards that gain crits sucks" stamp
here. This isn't a competitive card at all.
That being said, using this in a Phantom Blaster
Overlord ride chain, using Nightmare Painter to put
Phantom Blaster Dragon and Overlord to the Soul so you
can just ride this unit without needing to ride over the
others, can be pretty scary. Just from Blaster
Javelin and Blaster Dark, it gets +10000/+2 crit.
So, if you have the others, it gets +20000/+4 crit.
Plus it gets +2000 if you have a Blaster in the soul,
so... 33K/5crits if you set it up right.
But, it's over-costed, kind of reminds me of Phantom
Blaster Dragon, honestly.
Fun deck, wouldn't work in a serious tournament.
Might snag a win or two, but that would be it.
