True Revenger, Dragruler Revenant

I am assuming that the reason for only 4 cards this week is because of this coming 4th of July which is apparently so important to you Americans. Back in England, we just sort of wiped the date of our country's founding out our heads. I think it's because it was  made for incredibly dickish reasons we're not proud of. Or because my country gives no shits about patriotism when another day could be spent digging ourselves out of a recession.

But enough of this. Let us move on to the first of 4 Shadow Paladin G-Units, Dragruler Revenant. Once a turn, he sacrifices a Revenger to superior call a Grade 1 or below Revenger from the deck, and give it 3k until the end of the turn. But you need a Revenger as the heart to do any of this.

So what we have is a way to convert a Superior Call from Dark Bond Trumpeter into an actual booster, simultaneously setting up Dorint and Blaster Dark, if you're still running that. That's sort of neat because alone, I'm not entirely sold on this 1:1 basis. But it does have the potential to make columns 21k+ and at least it's sort of free.

Not a 4 of in Revengers but not a horrible first Stride either. But you need to hope your field sucks enough for Dark Bond and its target to sit comfortably otherwise it's a bit of a bust.

True Revenger, Dragruler Revenant

It's the 4th of July holiday here in America this upcoming weekend, so, for all you Americans, celebrate this weekend by blowing up a small part of the country with fire works.  You know, so long as certain whiny crybabies on Tumblr don't whine about it.  For the British, happy "we kicked your butt, aren't you glad that we're gone?" day.

Anyway, to kick things off, we're having a Shadow Paladin Stride week.  What better way to do it than continue in Fighter's Collection with Mordred Phantom's alternate future self?

Apparently Gust Blaster Dragon was causing too many problems and Mordred left the Revengers to go deal with him, leaving Blaster Dark in charge as the new Grandmaster.  However, a faction of Shadow Paladins were not happy with the ideals of the Revengers and split off, preferring the old ways of the Shadow Paladins.  We'll meet those Shadow Paladins in G-BT-03, but for now, we'll stay with Dragruler Revenant here.

Obviously this is meant to be used in Revenger Shadow Paladins and nowhere else.  Seeing as Revengers basically have to sit on the Break Ride, whether it's for Dragruler Phantom, Abyssial Revengers or Raging Form Dragon, it's nice to have something to do other than just wait for the Break Ride to go off.

What's nice is that this doesn't need to Counter Blast for the skill.  Sure, you have to kill a rear guard, but that's what Shadow Paladins do, at least it can call a Grade 1 or lower Revenger into play and give it a nice +3000 power boost to replace it.  So, Masquerade, Dorint and/or Dark Bond Trumpeter can be quickly called to the field for some naughty fun.  What's even better for True Revenger here is that no need for Persona Flips, so you can use this up to four times in one match if you wanted to.

Over-all, it's really good, a nice, solid unit for Revengers to play with, plus it can set up the field for optimum pain for later when you Break Ride into Legion or just Dragruler/Raging Form.

Long and short is, great in Revengers, useless in any other form of Shadow Paladin deck, like almost all Sub-Clan cards.

Rating: 4/5 (Revengers only)
