Swordsman of Light, Ahmes

Swordsman of Light, Ahmes. The old Blaster Blade. When he attacks and you have an Alfred vanguard, he gains 2k. Nothing we haven't seen before: Big Bang Slash Buster, Regulation Aglovale etc. His unique skill activates when he hits the Vanguard and the Vanguard's Alfred. You can call a unit with Blaster Blade in his name from the deck over Ahmes, and that unit's AUTO skill becomes free to play until end of turn.

Essentially, it's looking to get a cheap retire for CB1 if he hits. So he provides pressure at the very least. Only problem is that running a Blaster Blade is forced: the cheapest one is Blaster Blade Seeker if the Alfred you choose to run is Exiv. Or Blaster Blade Spirit. Except Seeker requires the use of other Seeker units and if that's the goal pure Seekers is a better option to have, and Spirit is brittle. But at the very least Spirit combines well with your 7k boosters so once again Holy Squire can exist.

It doesn't do a whole lot for me, this card. Lacks presence, but at least is has SOME pressure.

So, this is who Blaster Blade was before he was Blaster Blade.  See, the name is for the sword, not the user.  Ahmes here gave up his name to become Blaster Blade when Junos became Blaster Dark.

It's an interesting piece of history, and, really, I was curious to know more about Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark, this kind of stuff, plus the image of Junos's back to the Sword just really makes me want to know more about the story.

Okay, enough of that, what do you bring to the table, Ahmes?

When this unit attacks, if you have an Alfred Vanguard, it gets +2000 power, okay, that's cool.  Basically it's like some of the Legion Mates like the down hood Percival, especially since it has a skill that works on hit.

If you have an Alfred Vanguard, this hits an opposing Vanguard, CB1 to superior call a Blaster Blade from the deck and its skill is free when you use it.

...Oh, that's neat.  Works good in Seekers or in regular Alfred to get some advantage going.  Namely an extra attacker and a retired unit from your opponent's field.

Best part is, this isn't a GB1 skill, so you can use this when your opponent is at Grade 2 and you're at Grade 3.

No complaints here.
