Swordsman of Light, Blaster Rapier Laura

Laura here is the last card of the week. Not only does she have Resist, preventing her from being targeted by opposing card effects, she give a King of Knights Alfred in the same column as her an extra 1000 power. During both player's turns.

The function is obvious. She's here to make the original Alfred 11k to make defending easier and to make Alfred 21k on the turn he attacks. Laura herself is supposed to sit behind the Vanguard since King of Knights can't be boosted on VG circle anyway.

Apart from that? Doesn't really do a whole lot else except keep a RG circle nice and warm for you. Not a lot of cards can search this aside from Elron so you'll need to draw one if Elron ever dies.

Can't recommend the Alfred deck and so by proxy can't recommend this girl either. Sorry.

 2.5/5

And this is the card I've looked forward to for awhile now, not going to lie.  So, a word of warning, the following review may be biased, but I shall try to be as honest as I can be as to why.

When I first saw the name and the fact that this was a Grade 1, I was like "I don't care about the power, skill or anything else, that's a Grade 1 Blaster Unit"

As someone at my locals is fond of saying about this "Vanguard, where the name matters more than the actual skill of the card itself."

Don't get me wrong, the fact that this is 7000 power and has the resist skill is nice.  But the one thing that MLB decks have longed for is a Grade 1 Blaster unit.  Why?  It makes the 10K beater go off right away, plus it forces your opponent to guard every Wingal Brave boosted attack, since you won't want them being able to search out the key cards.

Oh, and it gives the King of Knights, Alfred a perma +1000 power buff if it's in the same line as Laura.

Okay, who cares about that?

This just...  Makes MLB that much more consistent, that's all anyone really should care about.

Plus it can't be retired, locked, deleted, stunned, etc. unless hit with a mass effect, which is always nice.

Ratings are for MLB deck only.

See you Monday, folks.
