[AUTO](RC) Generation Break 1 (This ability is active if you have one or more face up G units in total on your (VC) or G zone):[Counter Blast (1)] When this unit attacks a vanguard, if this unit is boosted, you may pay the cost. If you do, Soul Charge (2), and this unit gets [Power]+5000 until end of that battle.
Ratings are based
on a 1 to 5 scale.
1 - Horrible 3 - Average. 5 - Awesome
Dark Irregular's GB1, boosted CB1 for a plus of some
sort card! Squally here, on attacking the Vanguard while
boosting while GB1's online, Soulcharges 2 and gains 5k.
So theoretically we're looking at 5k extra dropped guard
in the form of your plus he incurs. But you wouldn't
reasonably use him for that. He's just here to help kiss
the sweet 15 soul you need for Gilles de Rais. Before
the turn you Stride him, mind, because if you don't hit
15 by the time the Main Phase he appears arrives, there
is no delicious PG seal for you.
He also works well enough top make a 21k+ column as a
RG, forcing the opponent to drop a good amount of guard
when combined with triggers stacked on him, so there's
Because of how Gilles is timed, he's only really good
for one turn before you risk deckout for redundant
power, so in the long run he's not as useful as stuff
like Steam Fighter Amber but hopefully one turn is all
Ah, the GBCBX of Dark Irregulars, on attack, CB1 to SC2
and then this unit gets one full stage of power
Nice to off-set any triggers your opponent gets during damage checks. This can hit for decent numbers and
it's nice to see more Dark Irregulars getting into the
whole "more soul = more power!" instead of just pumping
up the Vanguard all the time.
Note that this works really well with Scharhrot Vampir's
Break Stride ability.
Over-all, decently solid and I can't complain too much.
At least it replaces 12K beaters outside of Amon's
Today's card is DI's GB1-CB1
on-attack-while-boosted card (from now on for all my
COTDs I will refer to these as 'Amber Clones,' because
they are all based off Steam Fighter, Amber).
Squallmaker doesn't actually give a straight +1 like
most other Amber Clones, instead he soulcharges 2 and
gains +5k, plussing off the extra 5k shield the opponent
would have to drop to guard him. The soulcharge is
obviously helpful and needed for DIs as a whole, so he's
definitely a staple 4-of in Scharchrot's build.
Not much else to say, solid as all
Amber Clones are.
