Hello again... Time for another CotW (and since I did Charmander and Squirtle...)... Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur Name: Bulbasaur Type: Basic Pokemon Card #: card 44 of 102 Rarity: Common Color: Grass HP: 40 HP Weakness: R Resistance: none Retreat: 1 Species: Seed Level: 13 Pokemon #: 1 Attack: [GG] Leech Seed (20) Unless all dam. from this attack is prevented, you may remove 1 damage counter from Bulbasaur. Name: Ivysaur Type: Stage 1 -- from Bulbasaur Card #: card 30 of 102 Rarity: Uncommon Color: Grass HP: 60 HP Weakness: R Resistance: none Retreat: 1 Species: Seed Level: 20 Pokemon #: 2 Attack: [2G] Vine Whip (30) Attack: [GGG] Poisonpowder (20) Defender is now Poisoned. Name: Venusaur Type: Stage 2 -- from Ivysaur Card #: card 15 of 102 Rarity: Rare - Holo Color: Grass HP: 100 HP Weakness: R Resistance: none Retreat: 2 Species: Seed Level: 67 Pokemon #: 3 Power: Energy Trans As often as you like during your turn (before attack), you may take 1 Grass Energy card attached to 1 of your Pokemon and attach it to a different one. This power can't be used if Venusaur is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. Attack: [GGGG] Solarbeam (60) History: Bulbasaur are one of the most fascinating Pokemon, since they exhibit both the characteristics of plants and animals. Bulbasaur is one of the Pokemon you can select from Professor Oak in the Gameboy Game. Bulbasaurs' evolutions are strange; they go out to the Secret Garden at a selected time, different each year, when they are ready to evolve. In the Secret Garden, a Venusaur helps the Bulbasaurs evolve into Ivysaurs. In the cartoon, Ash's Bulbasaur did not want to evolve, and only through persistency and a bit of heroism did Bulbasaur finally make the Venusaur understand. Strategy: Bulbasaur's Leech Seed is quite a powerful attack; an essential 30 damage tip (20 damage to his Pokemon and 10 damage off yours) is good for GG. Ivysaur's potential is quite good; Vine Whip isn't as good as Bite (which does 40) or Slash (which only uses colorless), but it suffices for 30 damage. GG for Poisonpowder is also good; it's almost always 30 damage off the bat, and more to come. Venusaur's Solarbeam is the best attack of its class, but even more useful is its Energy Trans; it can really help. Pokemon about to die can have their energy funneled away; Pokemon in the back can augment the front to be able to retreat or perform attacks. And unlike Blastoise's Rain Dance (which can only be used on Water Pokemon) Energy Trans can be used on any Pokemon, although it's limited to Grass Energy. Strengths: -Leech Seed is good for GG -Solarbeam is a whooping 60 damage -Energy Trans makes your battlefield more mobile Weaknesses: -Grass is a hard color to use in general Combos: Venusaur + Chansey + Pokemon Center - Heal your Pokemon and save your Energy Venusaur + Scoop Up - Save that energy and the Pokemon too! Venusaur + Charizard - Let's burn up some of that Grass Energy for charred Pokemon!
