Jirirudan

Jirirudan, also called Gelarden or Lawrence III, is a professional Collector. He traveled the world in the Hikoukyu, his airship, which was full of various treasures...was, until Shamouti Island...

Blinded by his ambition, Jirirudan set out to capture the God (Titan) of the Sea, Lugia. But he failed to see the consequences of his actions. He knowingly disrupted the balance of the Gods (Titans) of Lightning, Ice, and Fire, in order to draw Lugia from its hiding place deep under the ocean. But in doing so, he unwittingly unleashed the fury of the Gods...who began destroying everything in their paths in order to draw Lugia from its hiding place deep under the ocean. But in doing so, he unwittingly unleashed the fury of the Gods...who began destroying everything in their paths...

By the end of the movie, Jirirudan is a broken man, his collection gone—destroyed by Lugia. But Jirirudan will not give up. As he clutches the Ancient Mew card to his chest, he vows to begin again. And his tenacity, rivaled only by Ash himself, tells us that he will succeed. - Blackjack Gabbiani
