Dear Matt,

Hi, my name is Brian. I've been playing the card game for about a year and a half now and i'm getting good at it. I have a question about Trunks swiftly moving. During a tournament match (it was a Tuff Enuff tourny) I was playing my gohan anger deck, against a MBS Majin Buu CS Red style mastery. Any way, i was on my level 5 and used my power (Physical attack doing 5 life cards. this power may be used twice per combat). He stoped it and then performed it right back. I then performed an attack (I don't remember what it was but its not important). In his attacker attacks phase this is what occured:

Player A(not me): I'll perform gohan's physical attack

Player B(me): What?

Player A: I said-

Player B: I heard what you said, thats my attack.

Player A: Yes I know, but i stoped it first w/ TSM. If I do that then I get the exact text of the power.

After this exchange, I asked several of the other players, most of which are more experienced then me, and they confirmed to my horror what the other player had told me. Honestly, i didn't believe them, but i didn't want to argue. Is that true? Please e-mail me ASAP. Thank you!

Brian

P.S.-When you reviewed the top ten personalities and you said that gohan lv 1 from MBS could be used with MBS Freestyle mastery. Gohans power says during combat, and the mastery says when entering combat.

---------------------------------
Your opponent is correct. If TSM stops an attack that stays on the table to be used twice during combat, TSM gets that text, as a floating effect. That's why TSM is Android 20 Level 3's worst enemy.

About the PS - yes, I know. And I'm correct. See, when entering Combat does work for the "Once per turn" requirement on the new errata. So yes, Gohan can use his power for the Freestyle Mastery MBS, and then he cannot use that clause for the remainder of the turn. When entering Combat is still part of his turn.

You might want to check the CRD. Both of these rulings are in there. It is a very helpful thing to throw at your opponent who says some bad ruling.
