Return to Pojo's Dragonball

Q: Alright let's get right to the interview. Now you have been having difficulties with your site when it comes to servers and space. What was the initial problem and what has been done to correct it. When do you plan for everything to be back up and running?

A: The initial problem, is plain and simple, I had no server capable of reliably hosting my site. I fortunately have already found a new server and the site should be up and running online again within the next few weeks to come. I myself, will now be hosting other sites, and hopefully I'll be able to provide much better service than what I've received in the past.

Q: Do you blame Plant Namek for anything that has happened?

A: More or less. They were hosting me, they hit a bump in the road, and all my files were deleted. I don't hold that against them. After they were back on course with their current GameFAN server, they rehosted all the original sites, with the exception of mine and Crono's. I had a bit of a problem with that, since not once prior to the actual termination of my hosting account was I notified that this would be the case. If notified earlier, I would've been able to prepare and commence the server search at a much earlier date.

Q: Now I hate to say, but interviewing you is quite hard. The reason behind this is because when I look at your site it isn't that it is boring, but it is very nuetral. Was this a planned move when you created the site or was it just how it turned out?

A: I was, at a time, a true "web site newbie." My site since then has always been somewhat "emotionless," something I plan to change with the new site to come.

Q: Now you have stated yourself that your image gallery is the most popular section on your site. Do you think it should be this way or do you kinda feel whatever the fans want is the best?

A: Hmmm... well so far, whatever I believed seemed to comply with the majority of the visitors, so I suppose I'll just stick with that. I was however, considering a fan art section.

Q: Planet Namek is somewhat of a monopoly in my eye's. The have "taken over" over two sites and basically supply space for some of the top sites on the internet. What is your opinion on what I have just said. Also do you think that Planet Namek is the game when it comes to DB web sites?

A: Monopoly? great site, but it's far from it. It accomplishes a little of what every site could ever want, but I think sometimes it's better to have a site with a narrower perspective that focuses more on one area. Mine isn't one of them either, but as of late I've noticed a lot of great sites that've done so.

Q: After what has happened to your site have you had any second thoughts about re opening your site?

A: Nope, all I can say is that it'll be bigger and better than ever before.

Q: Now AOL is becoming quite pathetic (I mainly refer to the kids who use it) . Whenever I go into a chat room and try to talk about DB it is filled with DB newbies sparring. This also reminds me of FUNimation. Both are becoming quite pathetic and hopeless. So now comes my two part question. What is your opinion on DB newbies who feel they know it all and do you see any hope for FUNimation?

A: I hold absolutely nothing against DB newbies. I know a -lot- of people that can be called "dubbies" or DB newbies, probably into the hundreds in number, and I've found that regardless of their lack of in depth japanese-based DB knowledge, some can be rather nice. When I talk to people, I don't judge them by their skill, age, or anything, other than their ability to show some online courtesy and respect. The only people I have a problem with, are those who talk to me with this conceited "my page is better than yours" attitude, and curse me out simply for not abiding to their every wish. Recently I've dealt with someone who continually Instant Messaged me for about an hour with insults and threats, just because I didn't feel that his site was link-worthy. Seriously now, would any person in their right mind go up to a public official, or basically anyone in the street, and show such disrespect? I think not. I'm just really sick of those people who take advantage of being online as as "security," allowing them to get away with moral misdemeanors unpunished. As for FUNimation, nah, I hate them, and I have no faith. Not to be pessimistic, but I haven't exactly seen them accomplish anything spectacular to base any hope in.

Q: Have you had any run-ins with DB newbies know it all's

A: Yep. One instance would be the one I described above, 2 questions ago. To be more specific to the question, he annoyed me even further by bragging about his site would one day be the best to ever exist, and I'd come to him in the future begging for a link. He then told me repeatedly that my site was of terrible quality, and his is forever and always simply amazing to the human. This REALLY pissed me off. You can read the actual conversation over at VegettoEX's page. I wouldn't mind if you dropped him a line and flamed him a bit. :)

Q: Looking back at season 3 which one was worse the music or the voice actor' s? I have to laugh when I ask this question because they both were really bad in my opinion.

A: Too tough of a decision to call. I don't watch the dub, so I really couldn't give you an honest opinion. All I can say is, that from past experience, it always sucked. :P

Q: Would you rather see all the DBZ movies subbed or the whole GT saga?

A: DBZ Movies, definitely. GT had a horrible storyline. The DBZ Movies were in my opinion, fantastic.

Q: Any new ideas or sections for your site coming in the new future?

A: Yep, but all are confidential, you'll just have to wait and see.

Q: Looking at fan-subs do you feel that they help, hurt, or have no affect on the success of FUNimation. Also do you feel that they help promote dragonball. Would you be anywhere without your fan-subs?

A: I think they could potentially hurt FUNimation if FUNimation continues to release products of such low standard. Generally speaking though, fansubs get Dragonball a lot of its American popularity. I personally wouldn't be a Dragonball fan today if it weren't for fansubs.

Q: DO you like any other Anime's and if so what are they?

A: Sure do! Rurouni Kenshin, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and The Vision of Escaflowne, are some of my favorites. I also enjoyed the Teknoman dub that was aired on UPN several years ago, and Slayers is always a fun series to watch. ^_^

Q: Have you created any other web site's other than your current one and if so what were they
