  Hanusa,
Radiance Elemental

Base Set

Date Reviewed: 4.30.04

Constructed Average Rating: 3.57
Limited Average Rating: 5

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst. 3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating.

The Antman Hanusa, Radiance Elemental- Super Rare- #S1

Here is my Short review today (though not as short as yesterdays >.<) Hanusa, Radiance Elemental

Well people I'd have to say I am very disapointed in this card, sure he is a 9500 double breaker, has the highest base attack, but you only get that for 7 mana. I'd rather have a Kingdepthcon for 7 (the same amount) and get a double breaker unblockable. Now lets look at the bright side of this card. Just plainly put nothing, not even Gran Gure, Space Guardian, can defeat this dude in combat. The only way to defeat him is to have him attack then you attack this guy with something like a Roaring Great-Horn, or you could kill it with a Kill Spell (Terror Pit), and last you could bounce it with aqua sniper or Spiral Gate.

Ratings:

Constructed- 3/5 Im Just stuck half way on this card, but I think there are better White cards you can use *cough*Urth, Purifying Elemental*cough*
Limited- 5/5 A 9500 double breaker is nothing to scoff at in this format.

Final Thought- I have come to a conclusion about this card: Only play him in Limited, otherwise there are better choices in my oppinion, if you don't agree E-Mail me.

Otaku

Name: Hanusa, Radiance Elemental
Type: Creature
Civilization: Light
Race: Angel Command
Cost: 7
Power: 9500
Effect: Double Breaker (This card breaks 2 shields.)

Flavor Text: The sky was scorched by Dragons’ fire, and the earth was gouged by elementals’ rays.  The battle raged for seven nights and seven days.

Mana#: 1

Set/Card#/Rarity: Base Set, S1/S10, Super Rare

Attributes: Hanusa is a creature of light and an Elemental, which currently only affects one other card (Iocant, the Oracle).  Still, that’s more than most other races affect.  For a whopping cost of 7 mana, you get a whopping Power of 9500.  This seems very impressive at first, and is the highest base Power in the game right now, but for 7 mana, it needs to exceed the “1000 Power per mana” of the 4 mana or less crowd.  So an extra 2500 Power is okay, but it needs more…

Abilities: …and it gets it: this is a Double Breaker as well.  Nothing wrong with being a double breaker-it’s one of the most potent creature effects right now in my opinion.

Uses/Combinations: Simply put, this is a great card for mono-light decks, or multi-color decks with Light in them if Light is going to be their source for heavy hitters.  Just summon and destroy!

Ratings

Newbie Format: 4.25/5-Probably the top dog for Light decks.  The only thing to worry about is creature removal, and every creature fears that.

Standard: 4/5-Sort of a tie between this and UrthUrth has the advantage of untapping at the end of each of your turns, so it takes effort to take Urth down through battle.  This is so huge that it takes some effort to bring this down through battles.  Both are Double Breakers.  Urth is only Power 6000 though.

Limited: 5/5-the only reason not to use it is if it is like one of only three Light cards you pulled.  If your opponent doesn’t pull any creature removal, or wastes it early on, they will pay.

Summary

It’s big, it’s beefy… and best of all, it looks to still be playable. ;)

Hydromorph Hanusa, Radiance Elemental

Right now, Hanusa is nothing more than a really big beat-stick. It’s the biggest creature in the game. Anything it attacks is going down, including two shields at once. Being the biggest creature on the board doesn’t make it insanely amazing though, just… well… big. It will see increasingly less play as the days go on.

In draft, you’ll usually be found saying “I win because I’ve got the biggest creature in the game, derp derp derp.” First pick, as nearly nothing can take it down.

Oh, and did I mention it’s big?

Constructed - 3

Limited - 5

Stegyman Hanusa, Radiance Elemental

"The Big Daddy."

Hanusa, Radiance Elemental: Light Creature, 7-Mana, 9500 Attack, Double Breaker. Do I really have ask? =D

This is a good card; no, a GREAT card. Hanusa, Radiance Elemental is THE highest attack creature in the game right now, minus any unique abilities or Spell cards. I mean, seriously: a 7-Mana, Double Breaker, 9500 Attack Creature with NO drawbacks? Not even Gran Gure, Space Guardian can block this creature and be around the next turn. I don't think I have to go into detail about this card.

Pros: "a 7-Mana, Double Breaker, 9500 Attack Creature"

Cons: CAN be destroyed using removal Spell cards, I guess..

I would highly recommend playing this card, at least one, if you are playing Light at all. Sure, Urth, Purifying Element costs one less Mana and has 6000 Attack, but for an extra Mana you could get a creature with +3500 extra Attack. In Limited; first pick. DUH! =P

Tournament: 4/5

Limited: 5/5
