Angler Cluster

In a mono-blue deck, Angler Cluster is the most cost-efficient blocker in the game.  As a turn 3, 6000 drop, it can stop most creatures that will appear over the next few turns.  Barkwhip?  No problem.  Valdios?  Equal trade.  Outside of mono-blue it’s a solid 3/3000 card, but a little weak for a blocker.

The Cluster loses a lot of power in a draft, where mono decks are nonexistent.  It’s still a solid card, but not great.

Constructed: 4/5
Limited: 3/5

Knives101 Angler Cluster

Angler Cluster is really good for Mono-Blue decks. For three mana you get a 6000 powered blocker. This card can kill Valdios and Barkwhip. The card can't attack other creatures like the Light Blockers can, but oh well. Like all blockers this card has a weakness. It can be removed/tapped/bounced. Of course that's not much of a downside when you consider the possability that you're opponent could slap down an evolution to get around your defensive spells. It's usually a good idea to include eight blockers in most of your decks (Some decks like Mono-Fire or Mono-Nature can't do this though. It's ok cuase they're still good decks to use.) The reason for this is because if you have nothing but spells to defend with you will get hit over and over by evolutions. Also few removal cards can remove creatures on turn two or three. Crimson Hammer is the only one that comes to mind. Blockers are good for early game defense agiasnt rushers because early game removal is pretty rare. Anyway Angler Cluster is obv. good. Hulcus, and Spiral Gate kind of good.

Angler Cluster

If you are going to play mono-blue, this is a mandatory inclusion right now.  A 3-drop giving you 6000 in blocking is fantastic.  You can handle most 5-drops in the game your opponent tosses at you.

Constructed - Mono Blue - 4
Limited - 3.0 - Just a solid blocker, but nothing special
