Wave Lance
Civilization: Water
Card Type: Spell
• Choose a creature in the battle zone and return it
to its owner's hand. If
it has Dragon in its race, you may draw a card.
Civilization: Water also holds "bounce" cards as a
main weapon against
blockers and non alike. With the release of the 3
new Dragon evolution
creatures and their large mass of evolution bait,
everyone expected a few
good anti-dragon cards to come out. Wave Lance is
probably one of the better
anti-dragon cards out in the game since it also
works well against non
dragons..
Cost: 3 mana is fair for its double abilities. It
returns any creature on
the field to the owner's hand (yours included) and
if it is a dragon you
draw a card. There are a few combinations with his
card such as bouncing an
Illusionary Merfolk, Aqua Hulcus, or Crystal Paladin
back to your hand and
resummoning it for its upon summon effect. You can
also use this in
Water/Darkness archtypes to return an opponent's
powerful creature such as
Bolmeteus Steel Dragon, Fighter Dual Fang or
Metalwing Skyterror and then
use discard cards or effects to get rid of them.
Higher cost creautres or
evolution creatures are prime choices for falling
victim to Wave Lance
combos. What would be better than a Billion Degree
Dragon falling to a 3
mana cost card?
Card Efficiency: Standard 1 for 1 with the potential
of 2 for 1.
Constructed: Unless your meta uses dragons of any
sort, this card will see
infrequent play due to Spiral Gate holding an almost
identical effect. 1.5/5
Limited: The only card that has a "bounce" effect in
the Epic Dragons of
Hyperchaos set, Wave lance is a key card both for
offense and defense. 4/5
