YAY!!!! I
finally got the time to write a CotD. Unfortunately,
we review a crappy card today.
Name: Aqua Ranger
Cost: 6
Race: Liquid People
Civilization: Water
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
This creature can't be blocked.
When this creature would be destroyed, put it into
your hand instead.
Flavor Text:
"I'm on a special mission to the surface to bring
back secret computer codes, enemy troop movements,
and a case of metal polish."
Power: 3000
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Atsushi Kawasaki
Rarity: V
Collector Number: 2
Set: Epic Dragons of Hyperchaos
Errrrrr............. It can't die, right? It also
can't be blocked... It also can't be better than
crystal lancer. It isn't either. Let's take a closer
look:
Civ/Race: Liquid people are a fine race. Great
evolutions and things like that. Like crystal
lancer.
Cost/Power: 6 MANA FOR 3000 AND IT ISN'T EVEN THAT
GREAT?!
Effect(s): 1. It returns to you hand instead of
going to the grave. This is good. It can be
discarded after that so, watch out for horrid worm
and propellor mutant.
2. It can't be blocked. This is the same ability
lancer has only, this doesn't have double breaker.
It also has to wait a turn before attacking. HAVE
YOU GOT THAT IT IS INFERIOR TO LANCER?!
Limited: 2/5 Not much mana excel here other than
that of dragons so, don't plan on getting this out
very often.
Constructed: 1/5 Terrible compared to lancer and
there is no reason to run this if you are already
using lancer.
Sorry for the short review. I chose next weeks'
cards so, I should be doing more reviews. ^_^

Aqua Ranger
Cost: 6
Civilization: Water
Card Type: Creature
Race: Liquid People
Power: 3000
• This creature can't be blocked.
• When this creature would be destroyed, put it into
your hand instead.
Civilization: Unblockable creatures are nothing less
than annoying for most
players and Aqua Ranger is one of my favorites.
Especially when paired with
powerful blockers or cards like Miracle Quest or
Brutal Charge, unblockable
creatures will always be a force to partially tech
for.
Cost: 6 cost is fairly high but with both the
abilities of Candy Drop and
Aqua Soldier it is a just cost for Aqua Ranger.
Power: 3000 power is the only real negative aspect
of this card besides it
summoning sickness. Regardless, the 3000 power is
something that at least
keeps it out of a few destruction spell effects.
Abilities: Unlike his big brother Crystal Lancer,
Aqua Ranger has summoning
sickness, Searing Wave-able, and only breaks one
shield at a time. Now while
that seems like a bad thing, Ranger makes up for it
with his never say die
attitude. If your opponent destroys him, he will
come back to fight next
turn and that can spell doom for alot of situations
since you opponent will
eventually run out of cards to destroy Aqua Ranger
with.
Card Efficiency: Aqua Ranger has a neutral exchange
rate since he has no
upon summoning effect but he will never be a 0 for 1
(unless discarded from
the hand) since he will always be around.
Constructed: Aqua Ranger will be a tech card more
than anything until
someone uses him with constant success like Craze
Valkyrie, the Drastic. 2/5
Limited: Aqua Ranger shines in limited format since
there are only 2 discard
cards in the Epic Dragons of Hyperchaos expansion
set. His power is equal to
many low-mid cost creatures that are commonly used
in limited as well. 3/5
