Brandon Schmidt Hello everyone, let me start off by saying that I have been busy so its cutting down on my personal time. Well, a lot of it may go to playing hours of Halo, but oh well. Expect a tournament report from me around the release of the new set, where I will be attending many tournaments. Today we will be reviewing another of Horus Masters favorite cards, Crow Winger.

Name: Crow Winger
Cost: 2
Race: Beast Folk
Civilization: Nature
Type: Creature
Rules Text:
This creature gets +1000 power for each water creature and darkness creature your opponent has in the battle zone.
Flavor Text:
The Dark Lords' presence in the Fiona Woods warped more than just the trees.
Power: 1000+
Mana Number: 1
Artist: Miho Midorikawa
Rarity: C
Collector Number: 50
Set: Survivors of the Megapocalypse

Power/Cost

Crow Winger is a 1000+ power creature, and regularly thats nothing to worry about, but his effect can make him a beast (no pun intended). Crow Winger is a cheap cost at only two, which I think is perfect in many ways. Nature creatures tend to cost less then say darkness creatures, so he fits right in the nature category. Crow Winger's power and cost make him a perfect choice for many decks.

Civilization/Race

Crow Winger is a Nature creature, and many of his qualities fit right in to it. Its cost for example is only a mere 2, and packs quite a punch for such a small little creature. Beast Folk is perhaps one of my favorite Races. Crow Winger is great evo bait for Fighter Dual Fang or Barkwhip the Smasher with its low cost. I personally use Crow Winger and FIghter Dual Fang in my deck and its proven to be great. Crow Winger should always be seen as a threat, for there are many uses for the little guy.

Effects

Crow Wingers effect states he gets 1000+ power for every Darkness and Water creature your opponent posseses. Darkness and Water being the most popular civilization make it even better. There are many negatives to him though. Your opponent will be able to dispose of him easily, with about any deck. Corile will be very effective against him, and its not a very good late game draw, as I have found out. His power though can reach the stars, and is virtually limitless.

Limited 4.0

Very effective here. A low cost creature in Limited is not good for your opponent, especially with limited creature kill. His effect will make him a force on the field.

Constructed 3.0

Crow Winger will work in many decks that use nature, such as Nature/Darkness/Water as evo bait for the ever feared Fighter Dual Fang. The only negative is that it can be easily dealt with on your opponents turn.

Himura363 Name: Crow Winger

Cost: 2
Race: Beast Folk
Rules Text: This creature gets +1000 power for each water creature and darkness creature your opponent has in the battle zone.
Flavor Text: The Dark Lords' presence in the Fiona Woods warped more than just the trees.

Rarity: Common

Set: Survivors of the Megapocalypse

This card is one of the best Beast-Folk because of its ability against Control. Most Decks run Water or Darkness, so you know Crow's attack will be increased.

Power:

1000 won't kill anything without suicide, but its power most likely won't stay at 1000.

Effect:

This effect allows easier destruction, and also avoids highly played cards like Searing Wave, Burst Shot, etc.

Overall:

Limited:

There are 20 Water and Darkness creatures in the set, so it is well worth it. 8/10

In Nature/ Beast-Folk Deck:

With Evos like FDF and Barkwhip, and other Beast-Folk like BAT, it rules. 8/10

Picture:

Looks a little more like a Chimera than a Beast-Folk. 7/10

Okay well with two days until Friday, we will review a card that I used to run, and still do in certain decks that I will get back to later.  Today's card, is Crow Winger.

Civilization/Race - Nature/Beast Folk
Nature's most commonly known race in my eyes would be Beast Folk.  Some notable Beast Folk are Bronze-Arm Tribe and Torcon..  Beast Folk also have evolutions in the names of Fighter Dual Fang and Barkwhip, the Smasher.

Cost/Power Ratio - 2/1000+
Okay so it's definately a weenie.  It does have a effect that could give it a great Cost/Power ratio.  But, it all depends.  So here, this is great for evo-bait

Effect:
Like I said, its effect could change its ratio.  I've heard of many occasions that this creature got up to xxxx/xxxxx power.  And the main reason is because many people are beginning to throw in Darkness and Water into nearly every deck.. So this creature could get up to very high status, but it also could get Corile'd and Terror Pitted.  So it's a great card, but not against the Civilizations that give it power :(.

Constructed: 2.5/5  So there is a reason that it is underplayed, but that doesn't mean don't run it.  Perhaps try it in a Nature rush deck for evo-bait for Barkwhip, the Smasher.

Limited: 3.5/5  Much better here.  Try rushing early game and you may just surprise and annoy your opponent.

Overall: 3/5  I guess I am being a little nice recently or something because many of my cards are around 3 lol.  So it isn't that great, but it isn't that bad.  Just make sure you use it correctly and in the right deck.

Well, that is it for today.  Sorry for such a brief review, but I really need to go to sleep, as I am typing this at 12:49am Central Time. So 'till next time, have fun and happy dueling!

PS: Look forward to an article soon xD.
