Welcome to our last review before
the start of the KMCs! I hope you all are excited
for this season to kick-off! I can't wait to see if
there are any original ideas outside of the
mainstream decks that will win these events! To
close out our week, we have a card that is similar
to Regroup but on an individual level. This guy can
have a lot of potential if played properly. Today's
card is Ra-Vu, Seeker of Lightning.
Name:
Ra-Vu, Seeker of Lightning
Civilization: Light
Type:
Creature
Race: Skyforce Champion
Level: 7
Power: 6500
Flavor Text:
"Stand aside. Ra-Vu and I will handle this."
-Master Nigel
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
S1/S15 l 3RIS
Abilities:
Blocker
(You may tap this creature to change an enemy
creature's attack to this creature.)
Double
Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Solar
Powered -At the end of each of your turns, untap
this creature.
Let's take a quick look at Ra-Vu's
stats. He's a Level 7 Double Breaking Skyforce
Champion with 6500 power. He's not really going to
get anywhere with his race unless you're using
Starlight Strategist, so otherwise, I would just
disregard that altogether.
Sitting at 6500 power, he has a
lot going for him. He can easily deal with cards
like Tatsurion the Unchained, Dark Scaradorable,
Lyra, Medusa (assuming that they didn't just blow up
your creature!), etc. This is a great card to take
down those guys, but what makes him even better are
the additional other abilities that he has.
Not only can this guy freely
attack and double break, but he can block too! Sure
he can die to comet missile, but what blocker
doesn't? And outside of Rush, who really uses comet
missile anyway? This guy can be your offensive card
and defensive card all in one and he does it well.
Lastly, he has a ridiculous
ability to untap himself at the end of the turn! So
whether he attacks or hits a Stormspark Blast, he's
safe to defend you for the following turn! Obviously
Ra-Vu lacks in power to some degree against the
dragons from DragonStrike Infernus, but he can hold
his own and could very well be a viable piece of
tech in your deck.
Ratings:
Constructed:
3.75/5.00 (Being able to attack and block for
you the following turn is pretty good when attached
to a double breaking 6500 power body! )
Limited:
4.00/5.00 (A great blocker
and
attacker in limited. Very hard to deal with unless
you get specific removal spells or a Level 7-9
creature in the battle zone.)
Best of luck to all of you at the
KMCs! Maybe we'll even see a card or two from this
list making an appearance in some decks? Until next
time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and
game on!
