Hello again everyone and
welcome to another review here at Pojo.com's Card of
the Day! Today we're looking at a promo from the
very first league event that we had months ago. This
card may have been put in your trade binders before
but it may now have the support it needs to make its
way into your Dragon decks. Today I'll be reviewing
Moorna the Vengeful.
Name: Moorna the Vengeful
Civilization: Fire
Type:
Creature
Race: Armored Dragon
Level: 9
Power: 8000
Flavor Text:
"So 'Bob,' these are your allies? Pathetic."
Rarity:
Super Rare
Set Number:
P9 l Y1PRM
Abilities:
Double Breaker
(This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Rapid Fire –
When this creature enters the battle zone,
banish up to 2 target enemy creatures that each have
power 4000 or less.
If you haven't noticed a
resemblance yet, Moorna is Tatsurion's (Bob's)
sister. Apparently Tatsurion's father had a thing
for both Dragons and Beast Kins, who knew? Anyway,
the reason that I bring that up is that Moorna and
Tatsurion the Unchained have quite a bit in common.
Both are Armored Dragons from the Fire Civilization
and have Double Breaker. Both are also relatively
close in power level (6000 vs. 8000) but what really
ties them together is their effects. Tatsurion
enters the battle zone and banishes a creature with
4000 power or less while his sister Moorna can
banish up to two creatures with 4000 power or less;
I think we know who's the older sibling!
Moorna is more playable now
than ever before with the release of the Fire Birds.
A lot of people would probably just past Moorna by
now that we have Infernus the Awakened, but she may
not be out of the running just yet. Moorna can act
as another weaker copy of Infernus or it can give you two banishings at once,
something that Infernus cannot do (unless of course
you have Hyperspeed Dragon out).
This card is really good
against rush... well, if you can find a quick way to
get it out, that is. This card is probably best used
with Bottle of Wishes or Herald of Infernus; you can
get her out as early as turn two (if you happen to
hit this off of Bottle) or turn four or five if you
use Herald.
All in all, Moorna is still a
decent card but may still go unnoticed. Give it a
shot and see how it works for you, you may just be
pleasantly surprised!
Ratings:
Constructed: 3.00/5.00 (You can get this card out earlier than
before by using the Fire Birds, Bottle, or Herald
and that makes this a lot better of a card. Being
able to get a +2 advantage on your opponent is never
a bad thing, unless you're drawing cards from your
deck and you would deck out!)
Limited: 3.75/5.00 (This is a very awkward card to try to put in a
Limited format. If placed in DSI, this would be my
rating. It can banish birds and blockers all day and
you can get it out early enough with your own birds,
why not?)
Stop back tomorrow when we
review over more promo cards! Until next time my
fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
