Hello everyone and welcome back to another review for Pojo’s Card of the Day! Today we are heading toward the light and looking at the card, “Halon, Paragon of Light”.

Halon, Paragon of Light is a Level 5 Enforcer Evolution creature from the Light Civilization that requires you to play it on top of another one of your enforcers. It has the ability “Double Breaker” and 8,000 Power.

This is another one of the cheaper alternatives to the rarer and shinier cards in the game. It’s easily accessible and there are a decent amount of Enforcers in the set if you need to play in a limited format. The main selling point of this card is that it’s 8,000 Power, that means it can take down just about any creature your opponent can throw its way.

It balances out a Light Civilization deck and can throw your opponent off if they’re expecting a bunch of blockers and skirmishers to be flooding the field. You can even set up a simple but effective combo by playing Blinder Beetle, tapping your opponent’s monster, evolve to Halon and banish their creature.

Since this card is a Level 5 with 8,000 Power, it avoids a lot of shield blasts and destruction. You can delay it slightly by bouncing it back to the hand or use Terror Pit/Hydra Medusa/Root Trap; that’s pretty much what options most people will have to get rid of this card.

It’s definitely more effective than yesterday’s card, Emperor Axon, since for one more mana you get 2,000 more power. Not much more to say about this card, it’s decent if you need a beat stick to deal with your opponents Bolt-Tail Dragon or Tatsurion or some gigantic blocker. I’m more of a fan of Cobalt, The Storm Knight, but if you can’t get him, use Halon.

Ratings:

Constructed: 3.00/5.00 (Halon is a decent tech card to run in a deck that packs some enforcers. It can seemingly appear out of nowhere, which is an advantage that evolution players have over those who don’t. Try it out if you have the space, odds are that it will stay out on the field for a turn or two.)

Limited: 4.00/5.00 (Having 8,000 Power in a Limited environment is really good. In Evo-Fury, there are only five creatures that can take this card down and only one effect that can banish him. As long as you have the enforcers to make it work, this card will win you games time and time again.)

Stop back tomorrow when we wrap up our non-shiny evolution week with a card you won’t mind getting banished; see you then!

AHShadow

Hello everybody! AHShadow here back with another Kaijudo COTD! The card that we will be discussing today is an evolution card named Halon, Paragon of Light!

Halon, Paragon of Light is a level 5 creature of the light civilisation and he evolves from the enforcer race! He has an attack power of 8000 and possesses two abilities:

Evolution — Put on one of your Enforcers.
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)

Similarly to yesterday’s card, Halon is an evolution monster that brings a ginormous body as a turn 5 play. In fact, Halon, Paragon of Light is THE most powerful monster that you can bring on turn 5, which is a huge advantage! On top of it, he also has very good baits to evolve from. Chasm Entangler, Cloudwalker Drone and Blinder Beetle are all very good monsters to play in a deck using Halon and all of them are relatively cheap to play too! Even he doesn’t have any other effects; the fact that Halon has a high chance of always being the strongest monster on the field makes him even more powerful. He is able to revenge kill all the big monsters such as Tatsurion, Tatsurion, the Unchained, Hydra Medusa, Emperor Neuron, King Neptas, Bonze-Armed Sabertooth and can even plow through Bolt-Tail Dragon!

Since Blurple (Darkness/Water) is very commonly played, Hydra Medusa will easily find its way on the board to destroy your Halon! And this goes the same for Terror Pit. Outside of those two cards, Flamespike Tatsurion, a card that has seen a rise in play recently, is also a card that can overpower Halon! However, I think what really sets this card back are the fact that he is from the light civilization. The fact that the light civilization doesn’t have lots of playable cards that could create advantage by itself makes the card somewhat less playable.

Summary:
Halon, Paragon of Light is a very good card and hopefully, the light civilization will get more supported cards so that Halon will be able to prove it’s real force!

Hey there, everyone! Sorry for my absence these last few days, I’ve been pretty busy here in college (what with it being my last semester and all). But, I’m back now, and just in time to talk about what is, in my opinion, one of the coolest evolutions to come out of Evo Fury: Halon, Paragon of Light! Let’s start where we usually do, by taking a look at the card’s stats.

Name: Halon, Paragon of Light
Civilization: Light
Race: Enforcer
Cost: 5
Power: 8000
Abilities: Evolution, Double Breaker

WOW! This card is super solid. 5 mana for an 8000 power body is nothing to scoff at, and with it being an evolution, it’s going to be putting in some work as soon as it hits the board, be it to come in for two of your opponent’s shields or for the swift revenge kill. This card is among the strongest of the evolutions in terms of raw strength. 8000 power beats over almost everything that is commonly played in the game right now, barring Flamespike Tatsurion, meaning that if you’re going to try to deal with this guy, you’re going to need to use a powerful spell like Terror Pit or Root Trap (which come down a full 2 turns later than Halon), or a creature effect such as Hydra Medusa’s “Eradicate.” With a fast attacking, double-breaking body of that size, there’s no need for any effect to make this card valuable, you’re going to get everything you need out of this card from its power alone.

Being an evolution card, it’s important that we take a look at the bait that you as a player should be using if you want to use Halon, Paragon of Light. Enforcers got a lot of support with the advent of Evo Fury in the form of cool evolutions such as Halon and some very useable evolution bait. In addition to Luminar, Stalker Sphere, Magris the Magnetizer, and Blinder Beetle, Enforcers were able to add Chasm Entangler and Cloudwalker Drone to their repertoire, making for some highly playable bait. In particular, players should expect mostly expect to see Chasm Entangler, Cloudwalker Drone and Blinder Beetle (with the occasional Luminar) being used as bait for this card. The Cloudwalker Drone into Blinder Beetle play in particular is very effective in the early game, killing off a lot of threatening card such as Aqua Seneschal or opposing evolution bait; and having a Halon to build off of that momentum makes the march to victory that much easier. Beware of cards like Barrage and Tendril Grasp, however, as those cards can put a real damper on your set-up for Halon.

IN REVIEW
Rating (constructed): 4/5
– Halon, Paragon of Light gave light a very generous boost to the Light civilization in this set, who up until now has been more of a “tech” civilization, rather than a standalone threat. It is a super solid finisher and one of the largest bodies in the game (currently). Also, a lot of his bait is very playable, setting up for some cool (and dangerous) combos before Halon even comes down, a la Cloudwalker Drone and Blinder Beetle. If you’re playing Light and are looking to put some real power on the board, look no further than Halon, Paragon of Light!
