Welcome back everyone! Today’s Card of the Day is
Tekamora the Wretched. Tekamora is a Level 6 Chimera
Evolution creature that requires it to be placed on
one of your Chimeras you already have on the field.
It has “Double Breaker” and an ability entitled
“Engulf” which states: Whenever this creature
attacks, banish all enemy creatures that are level
1. This is the third Super Rare in the set, this one
boasting an overpowering 11,000 power.
When I first saw this card I thought it was
horrible... wretched even! After a while I started
to see this cards viability in decks that focus on
Chimeras as one of their main aspects of the deck.
First of all, it requires you to run a decent amount
of Chimeras in your deck if you ever want this card
to see play, luckily, there are a lot of Chimeras in
the form of Scaradorables. Although this card
doesn’t create an immediate advantage when you play
it into the battle zone, it still has a couple of
features that make it a frightening sight to face on
the battle zone. Primarily the fact that it has
11,000 power is difficult to deal with in itself but
being able to attack immediately to potentially
break two shields or banish just about any creature
in play except Evo Fury Tatsurion and Flamespike
Tatsurion.
It’s additional ability, “Engulf,” allows for
more flexibility but is far from useful. You may on
occasion see a Cyber Sprite or Prickleback in the
battle zone when you play this card but it’s
doubtful that you’ll be using this card in the
current “meta” for this ability alone.
Tekamora is one of those cards that’s difficult
to get rid of once it hits the field. You either
need a huge beefed up creature to attempt to
trade-off attacks with it or one of your three main
kill-spells in the deck (Terror Pit or Root Trap).
Everything else doesn’t really work... Bone Blades,
Tornado Flame, Barrage, Tendril Grasp... they’re all
powerless to Tekamora. Even Death Smoke and
Razorkinder won’t generally be taking this guy out
since most people will be attacking with it the turn
they summon him.
So if you’re planning on running a deck utilizing
the Darkness Civilization, I strongly recommend
using at least one of these in your deck. It gives
darkness the extra power it needs to compete with
the Nature, Fire, and Light Civilizations.
Ratings
Constructed: 3.75/5.00 (Very playable card but
requires some devotion to using Chimeras. Use it to
get around most creatures and banishing
spells/abilities)
Limited: 4.00/5.00 (In a mono-darkness
civilization deck)
That’s it for this week guys! I hope you enjoyed
the return of the Card of the Day section for
Kaijudo; see you next week!

Hello everyone, AHShadow here with another Kaijudo
COTD! Today’s card is another super rare from Evo
Fury: Tekamora, the Wretched!
Tekamora, the Wretched is a level 6 creature of the
darkness civilisation and evolves from the Chimera
race! She has 11000 power and has two abilities,
excluding her evolution one. And here they are:
·
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
·
Engulf —
Whenever this creature attacks, banish all
enemy creatures that
are level 1.
Advantages:
Similarly to Emperor Neuron, Tekamora, the Wretched
was lucky enough to evolve from a very supported
race of the darkness civilisation, the chimeras.
Cards such as Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow,
Gigastand, Bat-Breath Scaradorable, Screeching
Scaradorable and Dark Scaradorable are all cards
that are commonly found in decks that run the dark
civilisation. Since all of these cards have
relatively good effects, it is easy to throw-in a
Tekamora in your already-built dark deck! Let’s also
not forget that since Tekamora is an evolution card,
she is able to attack on the turn she is played,
meaning you can destroy other big monsters that
attacked you on the previous turn or use her double
breaker ability to attack two shields in one attack!
Furthermore, with her ginormous 11000 power,
Tekamora is always a threat to the opponent. The
only creatures that are able to deal with her are
other evolution monsters: Evo-Fury Tatsurion and
Flamespike Tatsurion. If you are able to keep your
opponent’s evolution baits off the field, then there
is no creature that will be able to get in your way,
and Tekamoras! Her last ability, Engulf, can help
you achieve that! When attacking with Tekamora, you
banish all enemy creatures that are level 1. What
does this mean? Oh yes! This means that those
Pricklebacks won’t be staying on the field for long!
You can also deal with other commonly seen level 1
creatures such as Cyber Sprite and Blaze Belcher!
Disadvantages:
Like I said in my previous COTD, since Tekamora, the
Wretched is an evolution, there is always a
potential that she can be a dead draw, which is
always something you have to take into account
before putting evolution creatures into your deck!
One thing that can be a disadvantage is that
Tekamora does not have very playable cheap evo-bait
like Prickleback or Cyber Sprite. This means that if
you don’t have any monsters on the field, it will
cost you a minimum of 9 mana to play Tekamora right
away, since the lowest most commonly played creature
is Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow, who has a level 3
mana cost to put into play. This can be somewhat a
drawback, since if you are staring down some big
monsters such as Tatsurion, the Unchained, Bolt-Tail
Dragon, Dark Scaradorable, or even a Terradragon
Regarion Doom; you would have to wait at least 1
turn before playing Tekamora! Lastly, even though
his third ability could be very good in theory, in
gameplay, especially by turn 6, it is pretty rare to
see a level 1 creature on the board. This means that
most of the time, Tekamora, the Wretched will act as
level 6 powerhouse with double breaker and that’s
it!
Summary:
Even though it is very easy to splash Tekamora, the
Wretched in most decks that play dark, she is almost
always outshined by her fellow chimera evolution,
Hydra Medusa. This means that outside of Mono-dark,
I don’t see her being played as much as you think.
The card can become better if we get some
threatening level 1 creatures, but for now, I think
it will stay in the dark, no pun intended :p.
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.5/5
Limited: 4/5 (Usually, big beatsticks are very good
in Limited, which is why the rating is higher)
