Hey there my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters and welcome to Pojo.com's Card of the Day! Stop by my channel for a deck profile of a Leviathan Tempo/Control deck that I ran at my local Duel Days. The deck is a lot of fun and competitive enough to get first; definitely worth a look! Today we take a look at another card that was reprinted in the Triple Strike deck and has seen play in almost every deck out there that runs Darkness (and for good reason)! I'm talking about Bone Blades! Let's get started!

Name: Bone Blades
Civilization:
Darkness
Type: Spell
Race:
N/A
Level:
4
Power:
N/A
Flavor Text: Stick and stones can break your bones, but some bones can break sticks and stones.
Rarity: Common
Set Number: 69/165 l 3RIS

Abilities:

Shieldblast.jpgShield Blast (Instead of putting this spell into your hand from a broken shield, you may cast it for free.)
Banish target enemy creature that is level 4 or less.

This is one of the most powerful removal spells in the game for any creature that is level 4 or less. You don't have to worry about how high the creature's attack is, all that matters is that it's a level 4 or less and you can get rid of it for just 4 mana!

What makes this card even more playable is that it just so happens to be a shield blast as well! This is a great answer for your opponent's who like to deal out that early pressure or like to rush in on turn 2-4. It doesn't matter if it's an evolution creature or not, it's going down!

Darkness has the best removal spells in the game and this is one of them. Sure it doesn't deal with huge creatures like Tritonus or Infernus but that's what Terror Pit is for! Expect to see this in a ton of decks and make sure to get your hands on the foiled out version from the new Triple Strike decks at your local hobby shops now!

Ratings:

Constructed: 4.00/5.00 (A great removal card but tends to lose steam as the game progresses. Still deals with most Blockers that are currently played as well as any aggressive strategies being played against you.)
Limited: 4.50/5.00 (Amazing card in limited as it will likely deal with most of your opponent's creatures and Blockers with ease when it matters.)

Stay tuned for tomorrow when we take a look at another shield blast that can easily allow you to make a comeback when you need to! Make sure to check out my channel for new content and until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!

Card Name: Bone Blades

Mana Cost: 4

Civilization: Darkness

Race: N/A

Card Type: Spell (Shield Blast)

Power: N/A

Rarity: Common

Card Number: 11/43, 69/165, and 8/22

Card Set: 1TVR, 3RIS, and 8TRI

Card Text: Shield Blast (Instead of putting this spell into your hand from a broken shield, you may cast it for free.)

Banish target enemy creature that is level 4 or less.

Bone Blades is the best removal card of the 4 level 4 cycle shield blasts, what else would we expect from the darkness civilization on creature removal.   Bone Blades is only restricted by what level the creature is, 4 or less and you choose which enemy creature to banish.

Return to the Soil is the next best 4 cost removal spell of the group; you choose an enemy creature level 4 or less from the battle zone and place the creature in the mana zone.  The downside of playing this is that you are giving your opponent a free mana boost.  If you decide to remove an evolution creature you are giving the opponent an even bigger advantage in mana.

Fire has Rock Bite, which banishes a creature of 3000 power or less.  It does not banish many of the low-level big power threats like Gila Flame, Neuron, Sword Horned, Bronze-Arm Sabertooth, Laser-Arm Drakon etc.  Rock Bite struggles to banish enemy creatures that are powerful for their level.

Water has Veil Vortex while not restricted by level or power; it only returns the target creature to the opponent’s hand.  Where the opponent can then put it into mana and play a better card next turn or just replay it to the battle zone next turn.  If the creature has a great enter the battle zone effect it can make you think twice before using Veil Vortex on it.

Sorry Light you did not receive a level 4 shield blast to deal with creatures like the other civilizations.

If you play darkness this card is a must.  If you splash in darkness into your deck this card is a great card to include over the other civilization’s removal spells.  It deals with early game threats very well and since it is a shield blast can be played for free if you are lucky enough to have it in your shields.   Bone Blades is a card I don’t usually put into mana it is extremely valuable as a removal spell.

The only downsides for this card are that the removal is limited to level 4 or less and it costs 4 mana so the best you can do is pay 4 mana to take out the opponents 4 mana creature.  Still a very solid creature removal card that has received a lot of play and will continue to do so.  You can get 2x Bone Blades in the Triple Strike Deck to add some foil to your spells.

Constructed: 4.75/5

Limited: 4.75/5
