Hello again my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters! Welcome to Pojo.com's Card of the Day
for July 24, 2013! Today we're taking a look at one
of the oldest reasons that people stray away from
playing Blockers in their decks. This has been
around since the original Tatsurion VS Razorkinder
battle decks and has been a staple card in Drakon
Rush decks since day one; let's take a look at Comet
Missile!
Name: Comet Missile
Civilization: Fire
Type:
Spell
Race: N/A
Level: 2
Power: N/A
Flavor Text:
A giant space rock with turbo thrusters should
do the trick!
Rarity:
Common
Set Number:
107/165 l 3RIS; 14/22 l 8TRI
Abilities:
Shield
Blast- (Instead of putting this spell into your
hand from a broken shield, you may cast it for
free.)
Banish target enemy creature that has "Blocker."
Comet missile is pretty
simplistic and right to the point, banish a creature
with "Blocker". This card is one of the easiest ways
to deal with cards like Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow
or the now popular Aqua Strider. It doesn't matter
what level or how much power the creature has, if
it's a Blocker, it's going down!
Add to the fact that this is
also a shield blast, it has the potential to mess up
your opponent's plays when they attack and may even
stop them from attacking altogether in certain
situations where they really need their blocker to
stay in the battle zone.
Ideally this card tends to fit
into Rush decks, particularly Drakons. The amount of
pressure that the deck can apply is easily
overwhelming and if you don't have shield blasts or
a ton of Blockers in the first few turns, you're
likely done for by turn four or five. However, most
other decks don't tend to run this card as they seem
to focus on bigger removal like Terror Pit or Root
Trap and they don't need to worry about specificity
and that the creature they're targeting has to be a
Blocker.
Maybe this card will see more
play in other decks in the future but for now it
continues to thrive in House Drakon.
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.75/5.00 (Comet Missile does what it does well but
only against a small and sometimes non-existent
portion of someone's deck. Great in Rush strategies
though.)
Limited:
3.75/5.00 (An amazing card in the Triple Strike
deck. Pirates and Mantas ain't got nothing on this
card!.)
Stop back again tomorrow when
we continue to look at more cards from the Triple
Strike deck! Make sure to check out my channel for
new content and until next time my fellow Kaijudo
Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
