Hey there everyone! Sorry we
missed you yesterday but we're coming back strong!
With my birthday yesterday, I wanted to have a card
that sort of embodied that feeling. So with that
being said, let's get started with a new card from
DragonStrike Infernus: Bottle of Wishes!
Name: Bottle of Wishes
Civilization: Water
Type:
Spell
Race: N/A
Level: 5
Power: N/A
Flavor Text:
Sometime your wish comes true.
Rarity:
Rare
Set Number:
12/55 I 6DSI
Abilities:
Shield
Blast (Instead of putting this spell into your
hand from a broken shield you may cast it for free.)
Shuffle your deck, then reveal the top card. If it's
a non-evolution creature, put it into the battle
zone. If it's a spell that is level 7 or less, cast
it for free. Otherwise, put it into your hand.
This card has a ton of
potential! It can be amazing when hit on a turn 2 or
3 shield break and can potentially give you one of
the strongest creatures in your deck for you (if
you're lucky enough or a very good deck builder). It
can also cast you a spell for free essentially too,
turning this card into a potential Terror Pit, Logos
Scan, Tendril Grasp, or even a Skull Shatter!
I don't recommend using this
card if you are running a lot of lower cost cards.
Paying five mana to summon a Prickleback or to play
a Comet Missile seems a bit bad, because it is. This
card is meant to shine in decks that run their fair
share of big creatures and spells. This is one of
the cards that will be played at three copies in my
"Dragon Spell" deck that I had mentioned earlier
last month. Essentially if you can get away with
playing a spell for five mana to get out a creature
that costs five or more to play, then you've used
this card effectively.
One thing that is funny about
this card and
will occur, is when you play it only to hit
another copy of the card itself! It's even possible,
but very unlikely, that you would hit
another
copy of this card! This card will find its way into
a great deal of decks for the fact that it can give
you a free creature from your deck that can
potentially block or devastate your opponents field
on your following turn (kind of reminds me of using
a summoning trap from MTG).
I can already see people
complaining about this card and it being the reason
they lost. They'll say, "I got bottled!" or "He hit
me with BOW and brought out
Infernus
on turn three!" It will happen and it will define
the meta. Get this card now while you can, even with
this set only being 60 cards, doesn't mean this rare
won't go for five to ten bucks or even more!
Ratings:
Constructed: 4.25/5.00 (The only thing keeping this card from being
perfect is the fact that most people run spells and
creatures that are level four and under in their
decks. It will be more likely for someone to hit a
Aqua Seneschal or similar cost card. This card is
heavily reliant on luck... unless you focus on
higher cost creatures in your deck .)
Limited: 2.50/5.00 (A really good card, however, in limited, you
only get so much of a choice that you can choose
from. Odds are that you'll have weak Megabug or
Rotworms or even evolutions in your packs, making
this card less useful and even a waste at times. At
the very least, you may be able to bring out a
creature from your deck but very situational in
limited play.)
I hope you all enjoyed my
birthday celebration card! Make sure to check out
the rest of the cards that I picked out for the
week; they're
super exciting! Much like Bottle of Wishes, I
hope all of your wishes come true! Until next time,
keep calm and game on!
