Welcome to our Tuesday edition of the Card of the Day here at Pojo.com! As you might have guessed, we’re covering the Very Rares from DragonStrike Infernus this week. If you guys haven’t gotten a chance to see the new set, it’s out! Go to your local shop and buy yo’self sum dragons! Onto today’s card, Kindrix, the Psionic!

Name: Kindrix, the Psionic
Civilization:
Water
Type: Evolution Creature
Race:
Tsunami Dragon
Level:
6
Power:
9000
Flavor Text: N/A
Rarity: Very Rare
Set Number:   17/55 l 6DSI

Abilities:
Evolution-
Put on one of your Dragons.
Double Breaker
(This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Psionic Aura- This creature can’t be blocked.
Mindhack- At the end of each of your turns, you may draw a card for each shield that was broken that turn.

Kindrix has very unique abilities. For the fact it’s an Evolution Creature, it’s expected that it should have Double Breaker. It has 9000 power, so it’s able to get over most non-evolution creatures out there with relative ease. It’s also a Level 6, so it’s relatively easy to get out by the time that you are able to get a dragon out into the battle zone.

Its first unique ability is called, Psionic Aura. This basically turns Kindrix into a Neuron in terms of its unblockability. Unblockable 9000 power is a serious threat! Even if you don’t use this guy to break shields, he can essentially snipe off one of your opponent’s creatures every turn, assuming they attacked or you tapped them with some effect or spell.

What makes this card even better is it’s other ability, Mindhack. This basically says, if you break a shield, at the end of the turn, you draw a card for each one broken! Normally when you attack your opponent’s shields, they’re the only one’s gaining an advantage, now; you get a taste of what it can be like too! The cool thing about this is that Kindrix doesn’t have to be the one breaking the shields! Any of your creatures can break a shield; as long as Kindrix remains in the battle zone at the end of the turn, you get free cards… and who doesn’t like free cards?

Okay, now for the other side of the argument. When I heard we were getting Dragon Evolutions, I expected some ridiculous monstrosity for 7-9 mana. I mean, take a look at Evo Fury Tatsurion, he evolves from a Dragon and gets Triple Breaker, a nifty ability, and 12000 power! Instead we get a 6 cost creature that only has 9000 power and Double Breaker… what? The ability is nice but requires Kindrix to live through the potential threat of a Terror Pit/Root Trap. The unblockable aspect is really good as a finisher but doesn’t really seem needed unless your opponent has no shields whatsoever left. It is nice that it can evolve from any dragon though. Regardless, this is still a good card to tech in and try out. It can win you games but honestly should have more power for a “pumped-up dragon”.

Ratings:

Constructed: 3.25/5.00 (I would say that it’s able to come out of nowhere, however, unless you have a bunch of firebirds in the battle zone (and even then), it’s pretty obvious that you’re running dragons. Unblockable and can potentially draw you cards, not bad. )

Limited: 4.25/5.00 (There are a lot of Dragons in this set, so it’s pretty easy to be able to play Kindrix in limited. Not only that but the number of spells that will banish your creatures are extremely limited. Definitely worth considering for your limited decks!)

Make sure to stop back tomorrow when we take a look at the Darkside of the force! Until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!

I hope everyone is enjoying there new cards and are getting some play testing in. Today we have a card with a lot of potential.

Kendrix, The Psionic
Cost: 6
Tsunami Dragon
Water
Evolution Creature
Power 9000
Evolution — Put on one of your Dragons.
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Psionic Aura — This creature can't be blocked.
Mindhack — At the end of each of your turns, you may draw a card for each shield that was broken that turn.

Another really powerful card much like yesterdays Lyra. Now unlike Lyra this card requires a bit more focus when constructing your deck. With all evolution creatures we need to first consider what kind of bait it has. Fortunately, there are a lot of powerful Level 5 dragons that fit perfectly into decks with Kendrix so he has plenty of bait to evo off of. So now lets dissect his effect.

Double breaker is pretty standard, and unblockable is a lot more powerful than some people give it credit for. The most notable effect being that you get to draw a minimum of two cards when you swing in with this thing.

So let me get this straight, this card rewards you for being aggressive? Aggro: defined.

This card is the, and I make this comparison loosely, Bronze Arm-Sabertooth of the water civilization. Sabertooth let you be fast and aggressive without making you lose advantage. Although not as initially quick as Sabertooth with the fire birds making it cheaper, you could potentially make it just as fast.

Summary:
Kendrix will finds its home inside the heart of every aggro player. it does not really fit the control theme of a longer more advantage drawn out game. However it will give control a run for its money because without hitting a shield blast this thing will run wild on you. Also, being of the water civilization it has what I consider tied for the best fire bird, Nix. So draw a card with Nix then draw potentially 2+ more cards? get wrecked.

Constructed 4/5
Limited 4.5/5
