We’re rounding up our week with
a look at yet another Dragon (big surprise huh?).
This Dragon just so happens to be one of our unique
Evolution creatures for this set that brings more
viability to multi-color Dragon decks out there. Let
me introduce you to Sok’ran the Untamed!
Name: Sok’ran the
Untamed
Civilization: Nature
Type: Evolution Creature
Race: Earthstrike Dragon
Level: 7
Power: 11000
Flavor Text: Allie: “Victory begets more
victories. Everyone follows a winner.” –The Choten
Rarity: Very Rare
Set Number: 52/55 l 6DSI
Abilities:
Evolution – Put on one of your Dragons.
Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2
shields.)
Dragon Frenzy- Whenever one of your Dragons wins
a battle, choose one of your opponent’s shields.
That Dragon breaks that shield.
Sok’ran is one of two evolution
creatures that allow you to play it on any
one of your Dragons. It doesn’t restrict you to
playing it on an Armored Dragon like Evo Fury
Tatsurion. This can get people thinking whether or
not you can summon an evolution creature and attack
right away (this is a very real possibility with the
aid of the new firebirds).
A Level 7 with 11000 power is
nothing to shake a stick at… it’s actually more like
shaking a giant oak tree! For a Level 7 Dragon
Evolution however, I would either expect more power
or a huge effect and instead, I tend to think of and
compare this card to “Tekamora the Wretched” which
is a Level 6, 11000 power creature. For one level
less I can play Tekamora; let’s not forget that
there are plenty more low level targets to work with
in the Chimera department as opposed to all of those
Level 5 Dragons out there!
Okay, okay… Sok’ran does have a
fairly decent ability called, “Dragon Frenzy”. This
ability basically makes it a Bestial Rage Tatsurion
but for all of your Dragons. Every time your Dragon
wins a battle, you can have that creature break a
shield (sorry Lepidos fans, these ones actually
break). It’s a quick way to eat away at your
opponent’s shields but requires a lot of devotion to
summoning lots of Dragons.
Overall, I really don’t see
this card seeing a ton of play in constructed
events. I suppose it can combo well with a Light
Civilization deck that taps their creatures,
banishes them, and then breaks their shields but
only time will tell.
Ratings:
Constructed: 2.75/5.00
(It’s a big body evolution creature that can get rid
of shields by attacking creatures… but they break.
There are just better evolutions out there and
stronger dragons in general for the amount of
resources you’re putting into just one card. )
Limited: 3.25/5.00 (In
limited this card can see more play and can stand up
to most cards, except for the ones that cost two
more mana.)
I hope you all enjoyed our week
of reviews, I know I did! Make sure to stop by next
week when we review even more unique cards that you
may or may not have utilized in your deck as of yet.
Until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep
calm and game on!
