Welcome back everyone to
Pojo.com's Card of the Day! From here on out we're
going to give your our "Shattered Alliances Top Ten
Countdown List"! Now, just so everyone knows ahead
of time, this list is a combination of others
opinions and in some cases some items I did not
choose. However, I am willing to review these cards
regardless as they all add a unique flavor to our
current metagame! Without further ado, number nine
is: Blitzer-Mech Falkora!
Name: Blitzer-Mech Falkora
Civilization: Light/Fire
Type:
Creature
Race: Mecha Thunder/Stomper
Level: 4
Power: 2500
Flavor Text:
Ray: "How fast can this thing go?" Gabe: "I've
seen it outrun lightning."
Rarity:
Very Rare
Set Number:
50/80 l 9SHA
Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Fast Attack (This creature can attack the turn
it enters the battle zone.)
Thunderstrike- Whenever this creature attacks,
tap target enemy creature. (First choose what this
creature is attacking. then tap the target
creature.)
Blitzer-Mech Falkora is a level
4 Light and Fire creature with a very similar
ability to a card we reviewed yesterday. Whenever he
attacks you can tap an opponent's creature allowing
you to sidestep those pesky Blockers or even deal
with those creatures that your opponent doesn't want
to attack with, like their Fire Birds.
Falkora is easily one of the
best dual civilization very rares in this set for
that fact alone. How many times have you been in a
position that you were about to win (especially your
rush players out there) and your opponent had out
that pesky Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow? Well now
you don't need to worry about it ever again with the
addition of this card! Just be glad that Wizards of
the Coast thought this card through and didn't make
it an Enforcer/Drakon!
Probably the biggest downside
of this card is that it only has 2500 power. This
can easily be dealt with if your opponent has an
Aqua Strider or even a Fullmetal Lemon, as they can
simply revenge-kill (banish) your creature the turn
after you attack with it. However, if you're playing
smarter, then you won't put yourself in that
position unless you know that you're going to win
that turn or if it benefits you in the long run.
This card can also take out other rush cards and
avoids the common pitfalls that rush falls to like
Barrage. Maybe we'll see the reemergence of Dragon's
Breath?
It's my thought that a lot of
people will easily compare this card to either Shaw
K'Naw or Gilaflame. I can easily see this card, at
least to some degree, replacing Gilaflame or
reducing the amount of copies that people will run
of him. Falkora's effect is too game breaking for
rush variants to look the other way and this card
will see
play competitively at the KMCs. Get your copies now,
this card could easily reach $10-$20 in just a few
short weeks!
Constructed: 4.25/5.00 (This card will only make rush decks more
obnoxious. Prepare your deck to be able to beat this
guy or you may find yourself in rough position in
the early turns of a game.)
Limited:
2.75/5.00 (Still a good card in limited,
however, it's lower level of power often is easily
dealt with by a ton of other creatures.)
Make sure to stop by again
tomorrow for Number 8 on our countdown! Until next
time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and
game on!
