Welcome back everyone to Pojo.com's Card of the Day, we missed you the last few days! We're going to continue to give your our "Shattered Alliances Top Ten Countdown List"! Now, just so everyone knows ahead of time, this list is a combination of others opinions and in some cases some items I did not choose. However, I am willing to review these cards regardless as they all add a unique flavor to our current metagame! Without further ado, number six is: Heretic Prince Var-rakka

Name: Heretic Prince Var-rakka
Civilization:
Water/Fire
Type: Creature
Race:
Cyber Lord/Armored Dragon
Level:
8
Power:
9000
Flavor Text: N/A
Rarity: Super Rare
Set Number: S8/S10 l 9SHA

Abilities:
(This card enters your mana zone tapped.)
Double Breaker
(This creature breaks 2 shields.)
Fast Attack (This creature can attack on the turn it enters the battle zone.)
Heat Wave- All of your other creatures have "Fast Attack."
Overheat
- At the end of each of your turns, choose one of your creatures in the battle zone and return it to your hand.

Var-rakka was definitely a high card on my list and for good reason! This guy has 9000 power, Double Breaker, Fast Attack, and he gives all of your other creatures Fast Attack as well! This guy single-handedly replaced Bolt-Tail Dragon in any aggressive dragon strategies out there.

So aside from the power boost and the fact that he automatically gives everything Fast Attack, he has another neat ability that has been getting everyone hyped since the day he was spoiled: Overheat. This ability makes you return one of your creatures back to your hand at the end of your turn. Normally this would sound like a bad thing, however, this can allow you to reuse all of those effects that you love so much! Imagine being able to reuse your Lyra, the Blazing Sun over and over again. Did I forget to mention that you can attack with it the same turn as well? You can reuse your Nix's ability to draw you a card every time you play one of your dragons, you can play Andromeda over and over again, and the fun doesn't come even close to stopping there!

By far, one of the most dreaded combos with Var-rakka in the online community, involves combining it with Squillace Scourge. Every turn you force your opponent to discard their hand and they can't attack or block! They have to be able to top-deck, hit a shield blast (assuming you even attack them), or just surrender. But even if you don't go to that extreme, it can still turn one creature a turn into a "technical" Gilaflame the Assaulter, making it nearly impossible to deal with unless you have some form of hand disruption.

This card will allow duelists out there to develop new strategies and combos and will create a whole new aggressive deck in time... I'm sure of it. You could even flood the field with level 1 creatures like Prickleback, Magris the Magnetizer, or Blaze Belcher, and then attack for game in one swing. The options are limitless. This card will make a huge push in a lot of decks and I would expect to see it around in the next few weeks.

Constructed: 4.50/5.00 (Easily replaces Bolt-Tail and Shadeblaze in most cases and can allow you to create insane combos and/or pushes in the game.)
Limited: 3.75/5.00 (I've had this card pulled against me in limited but I still managed to come out on top due to some early aggression and convenient discard effects. If you let it stick around for long, it's game over!)

Make sure to stop by again tomorrow for Number 5 on our countdown! Until next time my fellow Kaijudo Duel Masters, keep calm and game on!
