Yu-Gi-Oh! vs. Duelmasters, MrDolphin Style

Hi there, welcome to my "Yammer". When I write now, Ill have a specific 
style, so..enjoy.

Purpose: To explain why I think Duel Masters is a better game than 
Yu-Gi-Oh!, for the rich and the economically challenged individual.
Format: 4 un-biased, well experienced points

First Reason: First of all, let me just say that I have played Yu-Gi-Oh! 
since it came out, I even introduced my friends to the game. At that point, 
we were into Poke'mon TCG.  I first bought Yu-Gi-Oh! due to my liking of the

Anime, since I am a big anime fan. My first 2 packs contained a DarkFire 
Dragon and a Curse of Dragon. So, I bought 2 more and out of it I got the 
left Leg of the Forbidden one. Those purchases right there cost around 16 
dollars. For the next 4 months of the game, I have spent 300+ dollars into 
the game and the set was just only on the 3rd set, Magic Ruler. Out of ALL 
of those 700+ cards I have gotten from the booster, only a mere 3% were 
cards that i used, and out of those that I dont use, 1.5% of them I would 
ACTUALLY would use. I said to myself, maybe future sets would make this game

more cost efficient. IT DIDN'T. Newer sets came, and the Secret Rares become

so ridiculous. The secret Rares became to be cards that "should" belong in 
every deck like Jinzo and gemini elf in the early stages of the game. But 
no, they made it secret rares. Out of a box, unless you buy the entire box 
and even so you arent guaranteed to get a secret rare, you would find 
probably 1 secret rare in a box, unless your lucky/unlucky. The main point 
of this reason? 97% of ALL the cards out then and now are USELESS!!! Come 
on, a SKULL SERVANT????? How about a petite dragon????????? I say move to a 
better game.

Second Reason: Going back to my first reason, lets look into the 3% of the 
cards that are actually useful. The problem? Most of them are Super rares 
and ABOVE! Take a look at ANY top class tournament winning game, the only 
cards that are not holos are probably :Dark Hole, Change of heart, Monster 
Reborn(ones in a starter), Waboku and maybe MST if they are not the ultra 
rare ones. So, that means if you want to win in a major tournament, you 
either need luck, or a lto of money/trade bait to get all of those "good 
cards", which most of them are holos, in order to have a reasonable chance 
to win. My main point is that Yu-Gi-Oh! is a game to rip off kids of their 
hard earned or their parent's hard earned money. Why? BECAUSE THE BEST CARDS

ARE A HASSLE TO GET! AND SOME ARE SO MUCH OF A HASSLE TO GET THAT IT ISNT 
FUNNY! I bought 200+ pax of Metal Raiders and did not get a Mirror Force!! I

may be unlucky, but I bought out the entire box one time, and out of it I 
get 2 ultras. This game was fixed, so that the ebst cards are hard to get, 
meaning more money used, meaning more money for them(the company), meaning 
unless your lucky, you just wated your allowance on 5 packs that contain 5 
STAR BOYS! I say move on to a better game.

Third Reason: Now that I have explained the Yu-Gi-Oh! side, its time for 
Duel Masters. A key thing in duel masters is that, you can get more than one

"rare" in a pack. Im not sure if it is a company fault, but everytime I got 
a holo, I get a rare as well. This right here makes this game cheaper than 
Yu-Gi-Oh!. Also, in yu-Gi-Oh!, 97% are useless crap that hardly anyone would

use seriously. Like every card game, several rares and holos are crap. But 
in duel masters, I find myself looking to get a COMMON CARD instead of 
RARES! In this game, commons are actually USEFUL! This alone makes Duel 
Masters a better game than Yu-Gi-Oh!. Its cheaper, the cards you get can be 
USED, and also the fact that there are "civilizations" in the game make it 
more unique. IN Yu-Gi-Oh!, many duelers possess the SAME deck overall! 
Everyone has a Yata, Jinzo, Raigeki, etc. Everyone uses the top attackers, 
the top magic/monster/trap cards. There is no UNIQUE DECK! Its just the 
"best cards deck". But in duel masters and in magic, duelers can decide to 
play a specific civilizations. by having civilizations, duelers can have 
different decks, unless they play the same color deck you play. Main point, 
more useful commons, can get 2 rares in a pack, and civilizations. I say 
move on to Duel masters.

Fourth reason: My last comparison will be the gameplay. As of now, Y-Gi-Oh! 
has a better gameplay. But keep this in mind, Yu-Gi-Oh! has been out alot 
longer than Duel masters. In fact, I find myself enjoying the game as much 
as Yu-Gi-Oh!. Imagine how much fun Ill have when future Duel master Sets 
come out.  The new evolution cards are coming out very very soon, so until 
then, Yu-Gi-Oh! wins this comparison, but by a margin the width of a strand 
of hair. But even so, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Duelmasters have VERY DIFFERENT 
gameplay. In YGO, you have LP. In DM, you have Shields. In YGO you have 
defense and attack, while in DM you have the TAP and the base attack. Its 
just a matter of preference IMO. The gameplay of each are, IMO, equally 
entertaining.

Conclusion: Out of 4 points, DM gets 3 and YGO gets 1. DM is cheaper, easier

to buy, and overall has better looking monsters (BOLSHACK!). YGO is a 
monopoly set by Upperdeck to make kids cry when they get cards like STAR 
BOY!
