Some light and fire card tips-Jackelrayn I'm fairly new to this game, that said, isnt everybody? Anyway having gotten very lucky with regards to booster pack cards, I am in posession of a decent enough deck, I play Fire and Light, a strategy which allows me to relentlesly assault, and still have enough defenses to make any big hitter cower in the corner of the arena. In my oppinion, these two civilisations contain essential cards for dealing with any situation, be it an instant effect death, dark deck, or one of those really irritating unblockable water decks (Ugh!). Holy awe. It doesnt take a genius to know that this is one of the most vicious cards in the game. At best its a one turn game winner, worst case senario you will get a free attack or two out of it. Try to run more than one (preferably 2), its expensive but, come on, its worth it. Toel, Visier of Hope. No fire, light deck should be without one of these. Untap ALL your creatures at the end of the turn, its one of those effects that has opponents tossing their eyes up to heaven all the time. With this ability you can turn cards like Super explosive volcanodon, and Lah, Purification Enforcer into mini Urths, and it allows your blockers to attack and still be in a position to defend afterwards. This card combined with Gran Gure, Space Guardian who has 9000 power is an unbelievably off putting for any opponent, effectivly giving you the games strongest blocker, and one of its strongest attackers at the same time. Lah, Purification Enforcer. This is possibly my favourite card, and always seems to have just about enough power to squeeze past enemy defenses. 5 mana for 5500 power is rediculous, run three or four if you can afford to. When you think about it, he is as good as a card with 6000 attack for breaking through defenses, he costs a fraction less and is easier to obtain too. Crimson Hammer. Do not underestimate this card, its beauty is in its simplicity. For a measly 2 mana you can take out a small blocker, which, lets face it, can stop the attack of even the biggest creature in the game. Also its mega useful against water cards such as candy drop and faerie child. Both these cards are unblockable, which means they will take out at least one shield before you can get at them, this card can be a life saver in a situation like this. Gattling Sky Terror. For a hefty fee you get an attacker with 7000power, who can attack untapped cards, heck, hes like a continuous chaos strike. Yeah, he costs a ton, 7 infact. I guess he is only really a situational card, and should never be used as a substitution for lets say Bolsahck dragon (who has potentially unlimited power for 6 mana!) unless needed. What he is good at doing is knocking off big defenders before you unleash a huge chain attack, or again in the case of a facing off against a water card player, taking out King Depthcon, THE most frustrating card in the game, before he can attack and take out two of your shields, for some reason I run 2, something which has given me a reputation as an eccentric twit amongst other players, but I swear it comes in handy more often than it first appears to. Dont worry by the way about getting these very rare Fire cards, they seem to be everywhere, especially this one. In one day, and I kid you not, in the course of a 4 booster pack splurge, both me and my brother got this card. This would have been great if I hadn't traded for it about 20 mins earlier during a tournament, (And Astrocomet Dragon Too, who by the way is crap!!). And finally one card which should only really be used against a dark player, but is a lifesaver in this situation. Chilias, the Oracle. Personally I hate this card, 4 mana for 2500 power, and each time it is destroyed it returns to your hand, I dont know why exactly but I always feel short changed by it, especially when there is also Aqua Knight, who costs 5, has 4000 attack and the same effect. However, when used en masse against a dark player something magical happens. Dark players often specialise in instant destruction cards such as terror pit. I know one guy who has 20 of these effects in his Fire-Dark deck. However, bring 2 or 3 chilias cards out and you always have an attacker to rely on, no matter how much the enemy destroys him. Now all we need is a blocker who does the same, that would be frikkin sweet. One more thing. If you are going to run the mega huge cards like Gattling Sky Terror, Gran Gure, Bolshack dragon or heaven forbid, Astorcomet Dragon, for god sake DONT USE any card which forces you to discard cards from your mana pool like Artisan Picora. There is of course a really good deck you can build around these cards aswell (especailly Ulcan, WOW, however he requires a pretty limited deck), but I am by no means an expert in that department.
