The Most Playable Decks, and Why - Destroyer As everyone constantly strives to build the "perfect" deck, everyone wonders which deck is best. First of all, you should build a deck to fit your style and not just to win. Otherwise you'll end up going with what everyone says, taking away from the originality of your deck and the whole point of the game - diversity. For those of you who are curious, the most playable decks are one-types (All Fire, All Darkness, All Nature), two-types (Light & Water, Darkness & Fire, Fire & Light, Darkness & Nature, Nature & Fire), and the hardest to control: three-types (Pretty much anything will be good). The most effective of those are the following: Fire & Light All Darkness Darkness & Fire Light & Water Fire & Nature Darkness, Fire, & Nature Darkness & Nature Fire & Light focuses on strong attack and strong defense. Nice, but nothing extraordinarily unique. All Darkness isn't very original either since you just write down 3 of each. Boring. Darkness & Fire gets interesting since it combines somewhat decent blockers (Darkness), monster and hand disruption with strong attack. Nice. Light & Water decks focus on "bouncing" and strong "guard". Annoying, but good. Darkness, Fire, & Nature decks can be fairly effective if constructed properly. You would want to use Nature for mana and mana acceleration ONLY. Then use Fire for your attackers. Next use Darkness's blockers, hand disruption and monster destruction cards (spells). So in theory, you really only have mana cards, spell cards, and attack/blocker monsters. These decks will most likely not see much play because your odds are now 1:3 of getting the card of the right civilization instead of 1:2 or 1:1. Darkness & Nature is probably the most deadly. Think about it: all the good cards are Darkness cards, but they have the high-cost setback. If you use Nature's accelerated mana cards, you could get those good but high-cost cards out faster. Seriously people, which civilization has slayers? Darkness. Which civilization has all the discard and destroy monster spells? Darkness. Which civilization has 3-cost 4000-5000 blockers? Darkness! There's a ton of potential there as long as you can implement Nature into it. Also, you could put in some Dimension Gate to speed up Deathliger, Vampire Silphy, Stinger Worm, Gigaberos, etc. Just another thing for all you Duel Masters fans to chew on.
